Hummingbird 4 Attachment(s) I was so afraid I would be too late in putting my Hummingbird feeders out. They are usually here the first of May and I put it out just last week. I'm so glad they didn't forget me and travel on. Here are some pictures I took today through our living room window. Attachment 222426 Attachment 222427 Attachment 222428 Attachment 222429 |
1 Attachment(s) And one more Oh, I just wanted to say if you look at the feeder...the wind is blowing so hard today...and of course we're under storm warnings again. A tornado watch is also on for a couple counties just north of us....but hey, the sun is still shining here. Attachment 222430 |
those are really cool pics. nice and up close. what do you put in the feeder. Lexi would love watching those ps how have you been |
OMG!!! That is amazing! I never see these little buggers. Then last year I was reading on my deck and caught a movement out of the corner of my eye, shifted my eyes to focus and one was hoovering about 3 inches from my face! Soon as it saw my eye move though it took off, but that was pretty awesome to me! :) You got some GREAT pictures there! How neat! |
Beautiful pictures! |

Doing good Denise. I miss seeing you here and of course pictures of Maddie in all her outfits. You can get the feeders and food at Wal Mart or any store really, dollar stores, drug stores..etc. I just use sugar water. I always have to read how much to mix...I always forget....LOL |
I love the pics great shots!! I am saddened to say we had to remove our humming bird feeder a few years ago:( We had a really aggressive humming bird that would swoop in and not only chase off the others but it tried to kill them:( It also would not allow us to be outside it would swoop down and try to attack us it was insane!!:eek: so we took it down:(, maybe i will try again hopefully he won't return lol cause i love seeing them! |
I love hummingbirds!! |
nice pics! I have a bunch of hummingbirds, and they are almost tame. I can hold the feeder in my hand, and they come drink from it. The most I ever had on the feeder at one time was 9!!! |
If the same ones come back again this year, we will have 5 of them. I guess I'll just have to wait and see since I put the feeder out late this year. |
OH WOW!!! Fantastic pictures! you are soooooo lucky!! I will probably never get to see one in real life..only on T.V or in pictures!:( |
Great pictures! I love hummingbirds and put out a feeder every year but I never get any. I am close to downtown so that is probably why. I keep putting the feeder out though you never know |
Wow those pics are AMAZING! They are such beautiful creatures. What kind of camera are you using? Thank God for the breeze we've had the last 2 days. It makes the heat bearable. I think this is the 3rd or 4th tornado watch/warning this week! |

My camera is a Kodak EasyShare Z740. I used the portrait feature to take the pictures. Kodak - US search results for 'Z740' I love this camera, but I would like to have one that is real thin and I can carry with me in my purse all the time. The other day we saw a deer in the creek and it was just so beautiful and I didn't have a camera. I know what you mean about the breeze...it has been so strong this afternoon. The rain just came and it is pouring down..I'm in northern Clinton County. I know the counties just north of us are under a tornado watch. I'm not afraid of storms at all, but I've just about had my fill of bad weather for awhile. |
Nice picture's, I love watching the humming bird's. I usually have one with a suction cup on it that I stick on my kitchen window above my sink and I would watch them while doing my dishe's. There has been a few time's the dog's have noticed them feeding off the feeder. They are beautiful bird's. Guess I better get busy and get mine hung up. |
Oh wow, you got some really great pictures there!!! Hummingbirds are so beautiful. Amy |

Wow! That was some hummingbird! They are quite territorial, aren't they? Yesterday morning I was sitting on the porch reading the morning paper and heard one behind me. It was about five inches off the ground, going back and forth, over and over again, a distance of about a foot and a half. It did this for a while. I could see nothing there that it was trying to intimidate. Crazy bird. Later, it did the very same thing right in front of another hummingbird that was sitting on a branch. It just watched it, the sitting bird's head was turning back and forth like folks do at a tennis match. LOL It certainly is amusing to watch them. I have had them hover right in front of my eyes while I am trying to read. At first, it sort of scared me, but now it doesn't bother me. They are curious little creatures! |
