Look What Is On My Deck! 4 Attachment(s) Hi everyone, I had to post this.. I was out on my deck barbacueing some steaks when I kept hearing chirping. I have a wreath hanging on the wall by the door and I glance in it and guess what! there are 3 little baby robins in it. The chirping was the Momma Robin who was on the shed, chirping for me to get away. Don't worry... I didn't touch them. I took some pictures to show everyone .She is so pretty and the babies are so cute.. if you like featherless birdies! :p Here they are... the Robin Family! |
More pics of the Robin Momma an babies! 4 Attachment(s) here is some of the Momma sitting on the nest. I took these thru my patio door.. so not the greatest pics |
they are cute - I have one too in the eaves draught (spelling?) - the same robbin has been coming back for three years now!! |
More pics 4 Attachment(s) More of them |
was the nest there already and they moved in? |
those pictures are fascinating. Amazing how the momma protects her babies. I wonder how long it will be before the babies get feathers and can fly. Please keep us updated. |
That is totally amazing that momma robin built a nest in your wreath. It looks like she was meant to be there!!!! |
WOW...this looks like it is supposed to be there, like it was made with the bird there!!! So cute!!! |
You'll have to leave the nest there when they fly away. It looks perfect! |
haha looks like your wreath is supposed to be that way!! NEAT |
Oh Wow That is Pretty Cool :) She made that wreath a home;) Thank you for shareing. |
That is very cool! Those babies will change, grow, and be gone before you know it, so watch them often. I used to breed zebra finches and those tiny little bald creatures turned into beautiful finches in quite a short time when you think about it. I LOVE the pictures of mama sitting on the nest in the center of the wreath. She sure picked out a pretty home. If it was me, I'd take a picture of the whole wreath with mama in the nest and maybe frame it. It really does make a pretty (neat) picture. |
Wow...That's amazing! So cute |
My sister has had a bird that builds her nest in one of her hanging planters every year. They have an automatic watering system, so they have to be really careful before they turn it on to check for the nest. When it's there they turn that one off; but one time they didn't notice and watered the birds! |
So cute! We had a wren that nested in a wreath on our front porch for two years in a row. |
Aww, that's so so cute!!! What a blessing :) Amy |
Robins are such good mothers! That is very sweet. I would be loving that, watching those baby robins grow up. |
That's pretty cool. We had a Robin nest in our hydrandra tree outside our living room window last year. We were watching them hatch. When they began to learn to fly my Westie pounced on one and killed it. So, watch those pups when they are learning to fly. It is the terrier instinct to kill rodents, and I suppose, birds. |

I am a floral designer. I put nests in wreaths to make them look natural and beautiful. Look at that! you have the real deal dressing your wreath. I think that is just so cool!! :D |
How beautiful!! |
awwwwww cute! My bf has a bird nest on a rotating fan he has outside... there are 4 eggs in it, I think they are sparrows or something though, they are TINY! soo cute! We are waiting for them to hatch! He got some pics of inside the nest with his cell phone but didnt touch it. Mama did kick an egg out, it was no bigger than a marble and white. I cant wait to see/hear these babies! :) |

Those CRAZY WESTIES!! My Westie killed a pigeon last week. What a mess. Before I could stop her, she had torn off the head and the feet. I finally was able to clean up the carnage and clean her up before I went to work. She was so proud of herself. |
Update Of The Robin Nest On My Deck! 4 Attachment(s) Hi everyone.. Trying to keep my mind busy from thinking of My little Mattie.. so I went out to the deck and couldn't believe my eyes! The little robins has gotten so big. The momma and daddy Robin was right there watching me. They both had food in their beaks to feed the baby robins. There are three.. I tried to get as close as I could get without them dive bombing me.. DON"T worry I didn't touch them. So here are the little robins. Before and Now. I will be away till Sunday so they probably will grow more. I have my sisters funeral to go to and my sons surgery. So take care.. and enjoy. |

OH! how gorgeous! can you post more pics as they grow?:) |
your Robins look totally different to the Robins we get here in the UK.. |
This is a British Robin.. 1 Attachment(s) so..are they a different species then but with just the same name? |
Your wreath looks even prettier with the birdies in it. Congrats on your new "babies". :) |
Those are some pretty amazing pictures. It must be even more amazing in person. Thank you for sharing! |
That's so amazing, I've seen wreathes with little nests in them -- never thought a bird would build her own. That little mother is the Martha Steward of birds, such good taste for her babys' home. |
