is this shelter serious !! LoLa Belle" is a little mixed breed about 30 lbs. She has 6 pups... The pups are about 3 weeks old they should be ready in another week or so... so keep them in mind! :thumbdown http://www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?act...=0&tmpl=&stat= |
it has to be a typo......... shelters have rules they have to abide by, and letting pups go at an older age is one of those rules.... have you called or e-mailed to ask about it???? |
i just sent them an e-mail i will let you know their response |
ok thanks |
lol.......... i guess us yorkitalkers cant mind our own buissness :D |

If they give you any lip - We can sick RECON the Millbustin SUPER-Pooch on them - |
i got a reply this is it. hmmm, i guess i should have given them the link, my bad... We are not releasing them at 4 weeks. They must be at least 6 weeks. I don't know where you got your information from |
6 is young but WAY better than 4 ...Good job - I wouldn't give them a link - they might come on here and yell at us. :D That's what I like about these forums - unless someone actually contacts that particular site - they will not usually know there is a discussion happening - In this case - it's a good discussion pertaining to the welfare of babies - but they still don't need to be here to see it. |
thanks. what i ment by link was like a link to the petfinder page. the worst thing would be for them to see us talking about them.... i thought 6 weeks was a little young too. i don't know for sure, because i couldn't hear the person saying it, but the email sounded kind of mean to me. kinda like told-ya-so kind of attitude. ya know what i mean? |
Megan, you are very brave for doing that!! Props to you girl!! |

thanks megan some people let large breeds go early cause a 6 week old yorkie would be less than a pound but 6 week old large breed (shepard)would be like 6 pounds so i guess its better than 4 weeks |
yea its better than 4 weeks defenatly. but i've always heard they shouldn't go younger than 8 weeks. thats just the right time. at least thats what i thought. |
like i said some people do large breeds different small breeds are sooooo tiny :D |

I just sent an email to them just now. Told them that a friend of mine had brought the ad to my attention and I wanted some info. Told them that I couldnt believe that they would let the pups go at 4 weeks (played dumb about Megan already emailing). Also told them that pups really shouldn't leave thier mom until 8 weeks (better even if they are large breed). Lets see what kind of response I get. |
lol. good job kelly. i hope they don't give you attidue because i know you don't take none. lol |
i got the same reply....... where did i get teh info from???!!! THERE FRICKEN AD THAT IS WHERE........... i also got some additional info .,,,, 3 pups are already adopted... they release them at six weeks, i emailed back and told her that 6 weeks was still young IMO and that they should wait an additional two weeks to make sure that the pups are healthy enough........ i have another e-mail saying "your concern is better put to other uses, these pups are healthy and ready for new homes at 6 weeks, this is our policy, blah blah blah..... they did seem kind of rude |
I got a reply: You are too concerned with what we are doing and not enough with yourself. These pups are healthy and strong enough to be adopted out and it is non of your concern. If you were interested in one of these puppies please do not waste your time or ours as we have far better people to adopt to. Take your concerns and opinions elsewhere because they are not needed here. My reply to them: I dont know who you think you are talking to but you seem to have some giant chip on your shoulder and have no idea who i am. Lose your attitude and grow some manners. I happen to be a long standing member of the ASPCA and am registered with the national ASPCA. Let this be known that because of your attitude and your lack of concern for these pups, I have reported you to the ASPCA and some one in your area will be contacting you shortly so I hope that you have all of your records in order and that you know what you are doing because they will shut you down in a heart beat. The ASPCA will be contacting me after they do a check on you and your facilities. Have a wonderful day- their reply; So sorry for what you took as rudeness. We have had a high response to these pups and have been flooded with people who are all too concerned with their age when adopted. Hope you accept our appology. My reply: you will hear from me as to wheather or not i accept after the ASPCA has reported back to me as to what they found. |
