Another board forum.. I guess I will have to word this carefully.. has anyone ever had this experience? I had been posting on another forum..and for some reason, several members told me that " we think you are so and so.. a banned member". The proceeded to tell that Admin I was so and so.. Made me furious! It feels like I am a criminal or something! And the language was positively rude! Here at least at YT, we see very little of that.. I guess other boards are a lot less moderated..and those members get away with some pretty nasty conversations on that forum! On this particular board the Admin seems to be part of allowing the nasty-ness to continue because they started the board! Obviously, I am " outa here" on that board-- when I spoke to that Admin..they told me I was too sensitive--and I could just leave!. I am just amazed at the behaviour of some of the members--and what they get away with saying to other members. There may be members here who can even guess which board this is.. but I know I can not say.. Just needed to vent.. I feel I was being attacked!And had no recourse.. Thanks for listening.. |
*hugs* I'm so sorry that you've had such a bad experience there! Good for you for leaving, because you don't need to deal with that sort of thing. I was on a forum once & all of a sudden the people there started being extremely rude & disrespectful to me. It was so devastating because I really loved being a part of that forum. I left because I couldn't take the rudeness anymore. It really hurt my feelings & to this day (it's been about three years since I left that forum) it still really bothers me that they were so rude for no reason. -Amy |
I wouldn't worry too much about it. If they are going to be like that,I don't think it's a place you'd want to be associated with anyway. Like they say, "Those that mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind." Just be you :) |
Your better off away anyway. I was treated TERRIBLE at a BABY forum just b/c I was new and I really thought I was preg. ( I wasn't :( ) but, the ones who were trying to get preg. treated me like crap. All I could think was these people want to raise children. There are too many good places to go, forget about them. I have had a similar experience. It seems there are cliques out there online just like there are off line. Try to get too close in a clique and look out. If they want it private, then why don't they make it private from the get go? Seems like some boards want it both ways, keep it open to the public to get donations to keep their clique running. From what I can figure-- there is a ring of about five members.. and they and the Admin are this way! Rude, nasty, demeaning! I even had a member PM to me and say.. watch out.. beacuse they like to get those that are newer and sensitive..like to make fun of you, put people down! I shake my head at this! I guess there are some people who must use a forum / board to hide behind--so they can act out their agressions that are inside them.. Perhaps because they went thru a bad divorce, or are in a bad relationship..then, cowardly people that these people are-- they attack you when you least expect it! BIZZZ_-ARRRE! It is very upsetting to me..I will get over it..I am just not used to this kind of behavior from so called adults. And the PM's are even worse!! I told the Admin I felt that some of the comments were on the verge of Libel and Slander..and felt the board was opening themselves up for legal action. The reply!!!??? "Are you threatening this board?" Anyway.. just an interesting micro planet.. I think Dr. Phil would have a field day reading that board and its forums! |
Oh my gosh, how bizarre! I'm not sure which board you're referring to, but wow, that's terrible. It never feels good to be treated in such a way when you've done nothing to warrant it :(. And, why on earth would they accuse you of being banned? All they have to do would be to look at your IP, I would think. Geesh. On the upside - was just looking at your IP and still can't get over how much Marcel and Ralphie look alike. :) |

As a matter of fact I just went through someone being really rude on a forum I have been a member of for years. A snake got in out living room some how this past week and I was telling them that Kayla found it but didn't touch it. There were alot of replys and we were trying to figure out what kind of snake it was. All I wanted to do was get it out of the house away from my babies. Someone said snakes will leave you alone if you don't bother them. I was telling them when I was a teenager at church camp one of the girls got bitten in Oklahoma by a rattlesnake on a hike and if it had not been for one of the boys knowing what to do she could have died. This person made light of it and said it could be picked up later by trolls. Go figure!!! I just told them I was sorry if my thread affended anyone. Gessssssh!!! I can see why they don't keep members and people drop out all the time from the rudeness. Sorry it happened to you. |
I've heard of this sort of thing before, and I believe some of these forums exist just so that they can belittle people. Some members have several identities. It's hard to believe intelligent people can be so petty and cruel. At least you didn't get sucked in on it, and become one of them. |
Azkaty Could NEVER be sucked in to be like them! I went looking for the one I thought she meant. Sure enough, the ADMN even posted the poor banned girls name and said she deserved it. NOT! IMO the Creator of that forum was the worst offender of all. .................................................. ........... On a different note: Two questions. (?) #1 how do you get changing photo avatars and where did you ever find that cute little terrier running? I have been to a animations site but found it impossible to get any for my use. When ever you are feeling down, just look into those cute little faces running around your houses. OM they are the cutest little Darlings ever! Seems they are always smiling. Hope the mean Admn & his henchmen leave us alone over here, this is so far a safe haven. I like to visit Y&L soap opera talk here. We can criticize the characters and stroy line;it is fun and harms no one. They aren't real people. |
