I admire the tanning products you use. (original poster) those are all pretty excellent products, esp cal tan. (they don't test on animals either!) :) I used to be a certified tanning technician... worked in a salon for 8 years! There was a lotion a million years ago I used, I wish I remembered the name of it, it was awesome! I used Cal Tan a lot... but I don't recognize any of the new ones. I love to be tan! I do not go tanning though. But in the summer I lay out all summer long! I love how my face clears up and it makes you feel sexier, skinnier and just plain nicer looking! :) :) |

Love to tan!! Haven't started yet this year though. I have my own bed (sunvision) I got last year for my birthday. So I really have no excuse why I haven't been tanning yet, lol! As far as the electric bill goes not a major diff in it w/ the bed. And thats with both my husband and I tanning usually every other day or at leat once every 3 days in the spring/summer! |
i use to tan all the time in HS. My mom is 1/2 cherokee so she has gorgeous toned skin naturally and in the summer she gets sooo tanned w/o any effort. I took after my french/english side and tend to be on the pale side. If i don't ease into it, I will BURN BURN BURN. luckily if I get a gradual tan, i can get pretty dark. I stopped going b/c i was afraid of skin cancer, but i'm thinking about starting back up this summer. I'll probably end up getting cancer from something else anyway. |
i was a sun worshiper from when i was a little girl. i live a block from the beach so i was out there from 10am to at least 430 every day. im regretting it now at age 45... sun spots come everywhere and i have them taken off.. my hands, my arms, my neck, stomach, al over its just stupidness. and of course wrinkles. it too late now. the sun spots will come every year. |
I love to tan in a tanning bed. Its so relaxing and the perfect way to either start or end my day. I signed a 12 month contract at Planet Beach so I right now I'm going every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. After the first few months, I'll probably drop back to once or twice a week. I prefer the lay down bed but occasionally I'll use a stand up bed to try and even out some lines. Right now, the lotion I'm using is called Supernatural, it's an "SteamXtreme" formula. It doesn't tingle, but it does get pretty hot. |
how about spray tanning? is that good? is it worth it? how long does it last? i would do that.. |

the next time you go, can you ask them for me pleeeese.?im sure the girls there will tell you the truth.. just wondering how much it is also... |
Planet Beach does a spray on tan too. I've heard that it'll last around 7 days, but you need to stay out of water for the first 2 (I think:confused:) I think it's a great idea if you need some color for an event but I think it'd be expensive to use as a way to keep you tan all summer. |

I have always been a sun worshipper. Growing up as a competitive swimmer, we lived at the pool from sunup till sundown during the summers. Used to bake slathered in baby oil laying on one of those silver reflective blankets!!!!! I'm a little smarter now, but still love the sun and being tan. I do use a tanning bed during the winter months (like to relax in the bed). I'll build a base tan with about 8 visits during a month and then maintain with one visit a week. I tan easily and also hold my tan for a long time. I don't go lots because I'll reach a certain color and not get any darker. I like Bananaberry Tini by Fiesta Sun. It smell good and also has a bronzer in it. I do use eye protection, but I'll take them off for the last minute so I don't end up with raccoon eyes. Thankfully, my skin still looks youthful and I don't have many sun spots. Guess I was blessed with good genes!!!! Tanning is my one and only vice and I feel so much better with a tan, plus I really think it helps my mental health. And I really do spend much less time baking on my deck chair by stopping in for an occasional tanning session. |

SAD = seasonal affective disorder. My roots are mostly fair skinned europeans. I have very green eyes and although my hair was literally gold colored when I was a toddler, it has been varying shades of brown since then. I don't know why I rarely burn, cause my sisters fry. I have one brother who has my skin tone and another who gets huge blotches from too much sun exposure - some kind of allergic reaction. I'm 47 this year and just satring to have a few wrinkles, mostly the smiling eye wrinkles. |
I have a tanning bed at home too and have not noticed any difference in my electric bill with both my husband and I using it. I love the swedish bueaty line as well since it doesn't leave you with a greasy feeling, I buy my lotions from Lotioncentral.com I think they are in florida and have better prices than buying them from a salon. I agree with the other, wear the goggles, the line is not that noticeable, and when you get outside in the sun it will tan and you won't be able to tell. I always feel better after tanning |
