Update on my MomsHeartAttack Thank You for all the prayers.Wer'e going to need more! When we got to the hospital yesterday,Drs. said she did NOT have a heart attack.so we thought that was good news. They talked her into the CAT scan.results were not good, she has a anourism-sorry for the spelling- around her heart ,very large, that could burst and kill her at anytime.Surgery for this is very MAJOR, her surviving chances are low from surgery, according to this Dr.but surviving without the surgery is low too. he gave her maybe a few years,IF it doesn't burst.which would kill her, her blood pressure is still above 200,they can't get it down, everytime it starts to go down, they tell her bad news. they still want to do a stress test today.we don't know why they want to put her thru that. I will be talking to 3 Cardioligists this morning. of course they are concerned about her age too -81- she's always been so active and fiesty! why her?? I talked to 1 Dr. yesterday about Bentley coming to see her, he said no. She was going to have a Garage Sale starting tomorrow.our garage is loaded! she wants me to still have it! I don't know.maybe if she stabilizes more, I will for a few hours.don't think so . So please keep the prayers coming ,we need them.We don't know what to do. |
oh honny I am so sorry:( I will keep you in my prayers I cant even imaging how hard this must be for you... |
my prayers are still coming for mom... think possitive |
Oh, you poor thing! That's really a major surgery and I don't know why they'd be doing a stress test on her; that sounds unusual. Is the aneurysm in the top part (ascending) of the aorta or below the heart (descending)? That makes a big difference. Regardless, it's a big surgery for anyone of any age, so my prayers are with your mom. It's a shame she has to go thru this, but even as big of a surgery that it is, it's still something that can be treated. I hope they can get her b/p down though....may God and His angels be watching over you and your mom in these next few days! :hands: |
I am so sorry. I know it's bad, but if she dosen't have the surgery she may get to a point where that won't even be an option. My grandmother passed from one that was 3 feet long went over her shoulder and sugery was not an option. Good Luck, Angie |

I am so sorry. My Dad when he was 80 years old went into the er at 6 pm with bad pains luckily a great doctor was on duty and my Mom volunteered in the er so they knew her, and they decided to do a special cat scan and found a large aortic abdominal anyeurism. By 8 pm he was in surgery, My mom called all us kids to come to the hospital, they gave him a 15 % chance of making it through surgery and I am happy to report that he is still with us 8 1/2 years later. He was in the hospital for 2 months but he did very well with the surgery. If your Mom is fesity and active it will help her getthrough this. I will pray your Mom can have a successful outcome. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help. By the way my Dad's Blood pressure since the surgery is 120/70. Hang in there. |
Im so sorry! Hang in there, I hope you can get some better answers. My prayers are with you and your mom. |
Michelle, I am praying for your Mom and you as well. |
Oh no :( I'm so sorry!!! You are in my prayers. |
Michelle - I'm so sorry the news isn't better. Adding you and your mom to our prayer list!!!! |
I'm so sorry. I hope that they can correct this. My dad had carotid artery surgery at 90 and came through with flying colors (even though it was very serious and not recommended). I hope they can fix up your mom and make her as good as new. Prayers coming her way. |
I'm sorry to hear that. :( Take Care....all of you. |
