Update! They didn't do the surgery on my aunt Thursday. :( She got full blown shingles on her lower part of her back. The nurses didn't document it on her file, and her doctor was livid! He totally went off on them, because they didn't document it. So therefore, he didn't know she had shingles. He told them instead of sending her home the other day they could have had her on some antibotics to take care of the infection. So, now we are having to wait until they get the infection gone before they can do the surgery. He said it could be anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks. They have her in some kind of drying room and giving high doses of antibotics. I told my cousin maybe they didn't know she had it. She said yes the nurses did know, they are the ones that gave her the cream to put on her lower back. When I find out when she's having the surgery I'll let ya'll know. Thanks everyone! |
Larissa thanks for the update. So sorry she has the shingles too. I have heard that it is very painful in itself. Bless her heart. Prayers and thoughts still with you, your aunt, and your families. |
Thank you for the update. I will be praying for your aunt. God bless you all. |
I'm numb, scared, and angry Here's an update. My Aunt Ann is still waiting for her surgery which is May 30th. While we are all waiting for her surgery, another of my Aunts just found out that she has lung cancer. So, here I go again with all the emotions and shock. I'm not sure how much more emotions I can go thru. I know its not about me, but they are my most favorite Aunts and I'm close to both of them. Although, Aunt Ann lives just right outside of Chicago. My Aunt Faye just lives 10 houses down from me and I see her everyday. The doctors gave her 2 options: 6 months of chemo or 3 months of family and friends. She chose 3 months. I know doctors can't really give an accurate time frame because God only knows when it's our time. I just feel that since they gave did give her a time frame, she's just gonna give up really fast. So, I'm indefinite need of prayers for both Aunts. I'll let ya'll know how Aunt Ann's surgery goes on the 30th. |

I'm so sorry to hear about your aunts. I will say a prayer for all of you. (hug) |
Update!!! My Aunt Ann had her surgery. It was a very long surgery at that, but she doing good! They got all of the cancer out! (YAY!) They are still planning on radating her whole head and then chemo for the rest of the cancer in her lungs. She is doing good. When she got out of surgery, she asked to see her kids. Lisa (my cousin) went back to the recovery to see her. Glenn was in Canada for his work, but she did get to talk to him on the phone. She knows who everyone is. She's up walking around (slowly, I'm sure). Almost like she was her old self again. They just moved her from ICU to a regular private room. They say if she continues to get better then she will get to come home in maybe 3 days! So, that is really GREAT NEWS!!! Thanks everyone for all the prayers!!!! I'm planning another trip up there to see her after she gets home and gets settled in. She told me this time when I come up I had better bring Little Man with me! LOL! So, I'm definitely going to mind her and take him with me. :D Now, update on my Aunt Faye. Everything is pretty much the same. She still has her good days and bad days. She's letting us see her pain though. She's not hiding it anymore like she was. She goes this coming week for some test. When I know more about whats going on with her, I'll update. Thanks everyone so much! |
I'm glad your Aunt is doing well after the surgery! |

Praise God for your Aunt Ann recovering so well....keep believing she will be healed. Also, sending up prayers for your Aunt Faye.....GOD has no limitations to his miracles. They gave ny grandmother less than 3 months without chemo in 2004 I had breakfast with her this morning! The doctor on her last vist wayyyy after her " time limit expired" said there is no medical explanation for this, this cancer is gone like it was never there ( no treatments were taken ) Hugs, Angie |
