ok, how about this:

I will have never and will never own a husky or spitz type dog. They are horrible pets. They howl and whine all the time. They are extremely needy. They shed like crazy. They don't like to be bothered with. They are too hyper for their own good. They will chase and "kill" anything that runs (be is a toy or small animal). They are quite to bite. They are fear biters. When they bite, they bite to hurt.

These dogs should never be allowed in a family environment among children and small animals. I believe they should all be put to sleep and the bred should be banned.

Personally, I think Pitbulls have gotten a bad rap. It's not the dog that is dangerous it's the idiots that have gotten their hands on them and have made them into killers. ANY DOG including a lab or golden can be a dangerous dog if tortured and this is what is done to pitts when being trained for fighting. With that said, I also don't believe it's a good idea to have big dogs with small Yorkies. It's not the fact that they will intentionally hurt them but because of the size difference it puts your Yorkies at risk. I think someone posted on here that their lab who never bit was being annoyed by her Yorkie and it just snappped and nipped and in one nip broke her Yorkies neck and it was dead. I know even my little ones will fight with each other over toys etc. now put a big dog in the mix and I think you may be asking for trouble. Just my .02. Elaine

As a school teacher, I know of a family who had a pittbull that turned on their child one morning. The child was not supposed to let the dog on the bed. He went to try to get him off and was attacked in the face. From this he is unable to go to school and has had to have extensive surgeries because the pitt destroyed his face. Another friend had one and it got loose and ripped off a neighbor's dog's leg. Both dogs were raised in loving homes. Many have to be muzzled. My wonder is why would you ever want a dog around young children and others if it has to be muzzled.

And your point is? It is a known fact that these breeds and others will chase and kill small animals. But most of these breeds do not attack with the mindless frenzie of a pitt bull, unless they are in a pack, and are unable to be stopped unless they are shot. Wooden bats, yelling, hitting usually will not stop a pitt while attacking. Almost all dogs shed as well as cats, goats, horses and people. Maybe all of them should be banned also. Babies howl and whine all the time too, just as loudly as bloodhounds and coon hounds. They should be put on the banned list also.

But, to each their own!!

These dogs will attack and kill the same way pits do. I've seen it. They are all dogs with the same instincts.

My point is, many things said about the pit bull can be said about other breeds as well. Its just that they don't have the same stigma. Dogs are dogs. I would own a pit bull in a heartbeat if i had the room. There are tons of other breeds that i would NOT own because they have more unpredictable behavior.

Certain dog breeds need to be respected and handled a certain way. Pit bulls give warning when they are unhappy about something. They show certain signs while they are becoming agitated so you can prevent an attack. Rotties, german shepards, huskies, chow chows, etc... do not. they are very hard to read and will snap in a second. Many people own these said breeds with no problems at all just like many people own pit bulls with no problems at all. In the wrong hands, any breed can turn.

A dog that has been bred by people who want to scare people...

Not a good breed. They can snap and kill a child in an instant.

Stay away...get a yorkie!

I've heard too many pit bull owners say, "we've never had a problem with our dog, he's always been so sweet." This being said after their sweet dog bit their child's face off. It is bad breeding, but not always bad training with this breed. Not one to have around children or other dogs.

I have a girlfriend with two pit bulls. They are super sweet and very well behaved and I have no problem being around them in her home. But.... would I ever have one? No. It is a shame what has been done to that breed but the fact is they were bred for fighting. Breeds bred to be companions such as Maltese tend to be lap dogs, breeds bred to hunt water fowl love to swim and assuming a breed will not exhibit the traits that the breed was bred for seems risky to me.

wow so thats it then your now comparing human babies to dog that were bred to howl??? Like WTH! :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown You know what, we all now understand your opinion of pits and bloodhounds and coonhounds etc etc. So, if you would like to stop spreading your non-sense around then that would be appreciated. Just that when a child or adult is badly eaten by a dog it's usually a pit bull! This is why they have a bad reputation...statistics.

They have a fighting instinct in the breed, as that is what they were bread for. I imagine some have better genes than others (as any breed), but the chances are too negative for me to ever risk our family with one.

I happen to like bloodhounds, coonhounds, etc. But I do not like pits, cane corso, and some of the other pit type breeds. I wasnt responding to your post. Personally, I like kids, but they are just a tad to noisy for me. Thats one reason I dont have any. But feel free to put your tiny dog at risk or neighbors kids, etc. Like I said, I really dont care. But werent you the one who asked for opions about pits?????????

its not the fact that pit bulls are more aggressive than any other dog... because in fact there are just as many attacks of other breeds... it the damage that they do. theyre jaws are stronger than most other breeds of dogs and IF they do decide to attack they do much more damage.

a poodle isnt going to end up on the news... because it isnt going to do much permanent damage... while i pit bull attack will be publicized to everyone!

this is why the "statistics" are the way they are...
