I'm so freakin excited! I'm running around kitten proofing the house and getting ready for the girls... Do any of you cat owners have any advice for me???? Also... They are eating Kitten chow..... I didn't think people actually actually fed that to their cats, isn't it junk foodish?? Like it tastes really good but is not too good for them? The gal was totally embarressed when she told me too... I think its what she could afford, she has 3 boys and is a single mom... What all are you feeding your kitty cats??? |
:D I can't wait to see photos of them on their tree! |
How exciting!! |
Im confused! I thought the kittens you were getting got sick and passed? Did you find another pair? Either way..good luck and I can't wait to see pictures! |
Well, I am embarrassed to tell you, but we feed our cat, Science Diet, as recommended by our vet. (I would never feed SD to Millie or Jazzie). But "we" had a weight problem and a hairball problem and this is what our vet recommended. I had her on Light/Hairball Control, but now have her on senior/hairball control. My cat is so finicky, this is the only thing she will eat at this stage in her life. She does not eat canned food or any treats at all. I could leave the dog food down all day long and she will not eat it. So it's SD for her. (Oh by the way, she is still over weight!) |

In looking around I happened apon a pair of twins, 6months old that had not been advertised till that day! The owner/breeder is a single mom with 3 boys who works graveyard 12 hour shifts! this was her last litter! its just proved to be too much for her. And She and I both felt like these girls were meant for me.. the timing was TOO perfect! |

Ahh, I gotcha! Well, it seems that it worked out PERFECTLY! Have you thought about names for these girls? Twins huh? That's so cool! Cali actually has a twin :D |

Ya but cat and kitten chow is like 3 bucks a box at vons... last I bought it..... For alley cays when I was broke... It was cheap and I felt bad for the cat... But it couldn't have been very quality??? I am hoping to find a good food to switch them on to... I know TONS! of cats on science diet RX's lots of males for urinary issues... Seems to be all I know is SD cats. There weren't a whole lot of choices not so long ago. I know the market is expanding to keep up with the demands for better foods. Its not just dog owners who want quality food for their pets. ;) Sicence diet is not cheap. There are better foods out there... but there are FAR WORSE! I wouldn't be embarresed at all. |

Penelope (Penny) and Prudence! And when we get excited and play with the feather toy, we can do the PP dance!!! Penny and Prudence.. P P! LOL I know, I'm such a dork! And I have awespme show names picked out too! I have applied for a cattery name for show usage, and in the event that I ever decide to breed the girls. Skin City Cattery was my first choice and should go through... so their papered names will be: A Lucky Penny of Skin city Trust in Prudence of Skin City What do you think?? |

Oh I LOVE the names!! Especially the cattery name! So witty! haha Im so happy for you..you need something fun in your life! You have had more than your share of problems lately! |
Congratulations, Kat! Can't wait to see pics!!! |
I am so excited for you. I have also loved cats. I used to feed mine Petsmart Authority chicken & Rice. The vet didn't seem to have a problem with it. I also mixed in some purina hairball variety. The petsmart brand has a hairball variety now. I still mixed the two a little since they liked it so much. Good luck with them. I am sooo jealous! I have thought about getting a kitten but since one of mine had a potty issue, I am afraid that another cat will pick up on it and start doing the same. I wish I could though.:) |
My biggest fear was keeping the dogs out of the litter box! but I found one that has a top entry so the dogs cant get in it! Woo Hoo! But in the back of my mind I'm thinking; leave it to Pixie... she'll find a way! |
Be prepared for them to walk, climb, and/or crawl on every single surface or crevice in your house. |

As for food, I would get them something much better. My son feeds an all natural cat food to his cat, and he's very healthy and looks beautiful. I can't think of the name of it, but it was recommended by a vet and the cat loves it! |
Congratulations on your coming new additions. You will have free entertainment watching 2 kittens play. Oh, I'm so excited for you. Fun has entered you life in the form of two kittens. Fun, fun, fun!!!!!! |

I decided awhile ago to try to give them something more "healthy" since they're getting older (although, you'd NEVER know how old they are; they don't act it at all), but when I try even mixing new stuff in their dry food, they upchuck it, so I'm giving up. They're very healthy (they NEVER go to the vet and they're inside 100% of the time) and have never had any health issues. I also feed them different 'treats' in the evenings. Even though they're inside with not much exercise, neither of them is the least bit overweight. Cute names too; you're stuck on the "P" names aren't you? |
I guess I am stuck on the P's LOL I never noticed... To funny! I just got a call from the airlines.... The flight has been delayed... The conecting flight for the girls is delayed due to a HEART ATTACK! They had to have an emg landing and it set that flight back 2 hours... Not that I blame them... you gotta touch down for something like that! Yikes... poor guy! Thankfully the girls had not left yet and could be rerouted and will not be traveling any longer than need be, but will be spending an extra two hours at the airport with their old mommy.... :( Talk about a LONG goodbye... And a long day for the girls! The cargo station closes at 10:30... the girls arrive at 10:35, LOL so they have arranged a van to meet the plane and shuttle the girls over quickly! Nice! since it normally takes 45 mins to get cargo animals over at this airport... Eeryone has been called and made awar that the late arrival is coming and I just need to be there before they close so I am not locked out... Poor babies... I just HATE shipping! The cost of a ticket was 3times the cost of shipping and I could only fly ONE of them back with me.... Or I would have flown out myself and picked them up! A comfy ride in cabin would have been nice:( Well.... they will be sleeping all snuggled up in bed with me before you know it! If pixie dosent throw a fit that is! |
Congratulations! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures :) |
Well darn, I was hoping for pictures by now. I bet you are going crazy with excitement! I know absolutley nothing about cat food but my mom feeds her kittys Nutro (not sure if it's Max or Natural though). The names are adorable. |
Congratulations on your two new additions!....The names are precious!....Can't wait to see pics! I feed my two cats Royal Canin, Authority and Chicken Soup.....the R/C gets pricey though....When I'm in a pinch and I'm at the grocery I buy Purina One Chicken and Rice.....and wouldn't you know it's the Purina One that they go for the best....go figure.... |

Congratulations on your kitties...I feed mine Chicken Soup for cats...The red die in the cheap food sometimes makes them itch and I was told it could hurt there kidneys, but not from a vet, I know mine use to throw up alot when I feed them the cheap food with red color. :) |
We feed Toby (my siamese) science diet, he seems to love it. he also has a nice litter box with a ramp up one side, i'm sure it wouldn't stop Pixie tho.. It keeps the smell in there and is pretty nice. A litter locker is nice to have too. You scoop the litter and put it in the top of the container and turn the handle and the bag locks the potties in there and keeps it smelling clean too. there are replaceable carterages. Litter Locker: Petmate Litter Locker Plus at PETCO Booda Dome Clean Step Litter Box - CatsPlay.com - Fun furniture, condos and climbing gyms for cats and kittens. good luck! looking forward to pictures! |
Congrats! I love those hairless beauties! My only advise would be that they can climb EVERYTHING! If you have long curtains, tie them up. If you have blinds, tie up the strings and leave then open a bit or they will climb through the blinds to look out the window (have a couple of broken slats on some of my blinds) Cats are supposed to be graceful, NOT! If they climb it and there is something on it, it will be on the floor. The cat might not but everything else will be lol. Get a laser light. They LOVE laser lights, the dogs do too and they can all play together. I tried a litter box that they jump into from the top and Gracie got stuck in it. she wanted in it and jumped in with her head and front paws inside and her butt stuck in the air. I just moved the litter box into a room and put a baby gate up so the cat can get in and out but the dogs don't. |

I am so buying a litter locker tonight! It reminds me of the diaper genie I had when Kate was a baby. How cool! |
So where are the pics? :D I wanna see your kittybabies. |
