The quake woke me up. I thought maybe the wind is really strong then I thought no it's not that. Then the neighbors dogs were crying afterwards. My husband slept through it. That's the first time I've felt an earthquake, everytime it happens around here I can never feel it. Glad everyone is okay. |
I was up at that time because the dogs woke me up, maybe that's why they were barking. I didn't feel anything. |

A friend in Chicago said she felt her shower door rattle and didn't know what it was:eek: Earthquake rattles Illinois - CNN.com |
I started a thread about the earthquake in the "off topic" area, I did not see this one.... We are in SE Indiana, and we felt it. No damage, no reports of injuries. My hubby is a 911 Dispatcher, and he said the phones were ringing nonstop... He had just pulled into the parking lot when it happened and said that his truck was shaking/rocking for about 10-15 seconds. I had been in bed, and woke up scared and the hair on my arms and back of my neck were standing up. I layed there and wondered what had woke me up, then my hubby called to make sure we were ok... My dogs did not even wake up... I told the kids about it when they woke up this morning. They thought I was teasing until they saw the news on tv... I wish I had felt it! I feel disappointed that I was sleeping when it happened. I heard there may be aftershocks, so maybe I will get to experience it later today... I hope everyone closer to the epicenter are ok and no damage to their homes! We do not have earthquake insurance around here. |
It sounds like we're right across from each other! I'm in SW Indiana...Evansville to be exact. We felt it! Hubby and I both sat straight up in bed. |
We felt it here in St. Louis, it woke us up from our sleep. No damage at our house that we noticed. |
We felt 'em in St. Louis, too! It was freaky. My bed was shaking, which initially, I thought was the wind hitting the back wall (which bed is against). Then I realized it was the whole room shaking. I jumped out of bed and it was surreal to stand there watching my bed shake. My mom, at the front of the house, heard nothing. When I jumped out of bed, I apparently yelled "What the hell?!" Since she didn't feel or hear anything, I thought for a minute that maybe I was just nuts. |
:eek:OMG....I'm glad all of you guys out there in the Mid-west are OK!!! |
Wow, I can't believe the spread of this thing!!! I personally did not feel it, but my daughters dad said he felt it this morning...he is in Clarksville, TN. I thought he was crazy until I heard about it LOL yep, I was sleeping hard. but I have to wonder if that is why the dogs were up so early this morning!! I'm glad everyone is ok :D |
I felt it hear in Scott City, Missouri.... (2 hours south of St. Louis). I thought it was raining outside and it was a thunder boom or something... my bed shook pretty hard... My husband called in the morning and said something about the earthquake... I said "Oh, that's what is was???? Glad everyone is OK. |
I felt it in Cookeville TN this morning too. Jack started to wine and I felt the bed tremble. I didn't know what is was and went back to sleep. Betty |
My husband and I felt it, and we live in GA!!! it was a very faint shaking of the house. I was joking with him and told him I bet it's a tremor....only to realize there really was an earthquake. I can't believe we felt it. had we not already been awake, I doubt we would have woken up. I hope everyone's ok |
We just had a pretty nice aftershock. Everything in the house was shaking and rattling. Daisy and Teddy both wanted to go outside, I think they are nervous being in a shaking house. |
im in southern IL and i felt it pretty big this morning about 430! everything in my room was shaking and a few things fell off the walls, then again at 1015 when i got to work there was a small aftershock....scary stuff! but everyone is ok |
