My grandmother said the same thing- they called them bible bumps I told her "well, we're not doing it that way" :) I had carpal tunnel in my left hand for a long time & then my son competed in junior rodeo's so I was riding his mare around the barrels after the third time for some reason she blew up at the 2nd barrel & I hit it. I ended up getting a gang. cyst on my left hand the one that always bothered me, had it surgically removed but I sure wasn't awake while he did it! :) after about a week & a half-two weeks you'll be good as new! |

My dh had one. The Dr. told him he could let it go unless it bothered him, then it could be removed, or he could smash it with a Bible, like in the old days:). |

My MIL had surgery to remove one about a year ago and since it was on a finger, the recovery was a "pain in the rear" (I can't imagine having a finger all splinted and bandaged where you can't use it!) but it's all good now. Good luck on your surgery today. By the way, the book slamming thing cracks me up. I've never heard of it but hey, if it works for you, I say go with it. Not sure that I would try it though. |
I had one... a LONG time ago, on the top of my wrist... this is my doctor said to do (what they did in the old days) whack it a few times a day with the the Bible. HAHA Back in the old days the bible was in EVERY household and it was big and hardcover. I just whacked it against any hard surface a couple times a day, it didnt hurt too much and within a couple weeks it went away. Never came back! I had it when I was like 15 years old. Im 31 now and never had it again! :) Good Luck! |
