i have a lump under my arm its HUGE! like the size of a quarter in my arm pit. its been there for a good couple of weeks now and my entire underarm area is killing me. its to the point now where i can barely put my arm down =[ worst part, i dont have insurance! so i cant go to the doctor's to get it looked at. what should i do?? |
Poor thing...I've experienced this very thing actually and all I can tell you is don't mess with it because the more you do the bigger it'll get. The only way to really get rid if it is to have it lanced at a dr's office. It sounds like a boil but just in case it's not you should really have it looked at. |
'try warm compresses to try and get it to come to a head, but it could be an infection that require meds. |

There are lymph nodes in your armpit. It could be a swollen gland indicating an infection somewhere. Strep comes to mind. You really need to go to a doctor. |

I agree with everyone. You need to have it looked at ASAP.... Good luck, and please keep us posted, okay? |
Hhhmmmm I was an OB-GYN nurse for a long time, lumps can be any number of things. First of all dont panic! With that said, they are also nothing to mess around with. In my experience, lumps that are painfull generally have to do with the lymphs in your arm and shoulder. But...its ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry. get it checked as soon as possible to avoid further worry and the possibility of it getting worse and having a bigger more painful problem to deal with. Theres alot to be said for peace of mind. Prayers for a speedy recovery! |
I don't think younecessarily need the er but seea dr quickly. Dr.s offices will usually let you pay over time, do not gamble with your health-ever. Get it checked out.:) |
I think you need to see a DR. I'd go to a dr's at his office- tend to be cheaper than the ER |
Is it in your armpit? I just went through this, after all the testing & sonograms my surgeon rec. removal b/c he could tell by the mammogram & sonogram that by the shape it wasn't cancer but either a deactivated lymphnoid or a fibroidadenoma (don't know if I spelled that right) the only reason they were very concerned about it being a lympn. was b/c I had a major surgery 2 months b/f I found it. But after surgery it ended up being a fibroidadenoma which is nothing serious at all but they do recomend it being removed b/c they only get bigger. You need to see your doc asap if it is a lymph. you might need to be on a antibiotic & I know it's hard to stop touching it & looking at it but for me I would read books to take my mind off of it. |
keep us updated, hope everything turns out ok |
What about a free clinic check your phone book for one or Emergency medi-cal ( if you go to the ER ask them if you can apply for this there ) whatever you do get it looked at I hope it all goes well and everything turns out fine !! |
