You ARE a baby! It is bigger than a CD but smaller than an LP - long play album. One song per side! And you played it on a record player. That is your history lesson for the night! :D

Thanks for the explanation. i've never heard of a 45, but i did have some records when i was younger (simon and the chipmunks lol) my dad has tons of LPs (beatles, pink flyod, zepplin, etc). i'm 25 so definitely missed anything before cassette tapes :D

My first 45 was THe Lion Sleeps tonight......

My first album was John Travolta....I paid for it with my own money...I still have it...It still has the plastic wrapping on it....Where you slit the end so you can slide it in and out still....

My kids did not believe that John Travolta even made an album...haha

Well, I actually have some Christmas 78's. But I didn't buy those. The first one I can remember is a 45 of the Rolling Stones "I Can't Get No Satisfaction". I had lots of Beatles and Beach Boys 45's (I had older brother and sister). I remember stacking so many 45's on my record player (as I sang in the mirror with my hairbrush as a microphone) that sometimes they would fall too many at a time. My first LP was the Partridge Family I am pretty sure. .... and I had Hey Jude/Revolution. Revolution Rocked. ;)

I feel sooooooooo old, but I love these CD/45/LP/cassette (and 8-tracks for Judy) threads. I was telling my hubby about it tonight and we had a good time.

And I really love the different ages of all of us. It makes it all the more fun.

The first CD I ever bought was The Lion King soundtrack! I got it when I got my first cd player :) I wonder where that CD is now:confused:
