KIDDING! Megan, we are all very proud of you. Having heard about all the long hours of rehearsals, you deserved a terrific show and a great reaction from the audience. I'm thrilled for you. And sorry about the big-head joke. I couldn't pass it up. |

Megan, Hoping your night is being filled with excitement and wonderful memories... and I can't wait to hear ALL about it tomorrow ! |
Thank you guys!! My mom didn't take any pictures of the show tonight...but there's videos! Even better, right? I'm waiting for them to upload, so I'll just post about the show and I'll make a new post when the vids are done. :) I made a mistake in my last post...we weren't completly sold out last night. There were like 5 empty seats. But tonight when we got there there were 30 tickets left...and for about half an hour we were doing a countdown of tickets, and when we got the announcement that we were sold out we threw a freakin' parade. :p A show has never in our school's history sold out! :D:D Tonight's show, while just as good overall, did not go as smoothly as last night. and that would be my fault. :p During "Gaston" (which I have a video of), we (the cast) have to bring out the chairs and mugs that we use for the dance. WELL. Here's the story. My hair was curly for the first scene, and then after that it decided to uncurl itself. So my friend Alex, who isn't in "Gaston" was straightening it for me between the opening scene and "Gaston". We were talking when I realized that the dressing room was empty, except for the 2 of us. I went FLYING out with my hair half straight half curly-ish knot. and I heard Lefou starting starting the song. I FLIPPED out and went flying from one side of the backstage area to the other...my feet probably touched the ground twice. When I got to the other side, the song had actually started, so I was kind of like "crap" (among other words :p) backstage, and I decided I just wouldn't go on for that song. Then one of the stage crew was like "GET OUT THERE!!" So I kind of stumbled onto the stage (attempting to act drunk) and ran over to my friend Chris, who is my "dance partener" for this scene. He said (mouthed) "Did you bring the chair?" and I mouthed "No, I didn't bring the chair!! I just got here." and he was like "I know you just got here, but why didn't you bring the chair?" and I gave him like a death look (don't worry...it looks like we were just stage talking in the video lol), and he was like "Go get the chair" and I was like "I'm not going BACK off stage to get the chair. You get the chair." so he was like "cover me." So he crawled out behind my back and came on like 2 minutes later with a chair acting drunk. It was HYSTERICAL. That was the only part of the show that I screwed up really badly. Afterwords I was talking to the woman who did the costumes (who was watching the show) and I asked her if it was obvious that I came screwed up. and one girl (whose also in the show) was like "Yes, cause you weren't there." which might sound mean, but it was pretty funny. :p The rest of it went well though!! after that I changed into my dress for Be Our Guest and I was successful in getting my hair straightened the rest of the way before we went on again. It was so embarrassing...but kind of fun at the same time lol. But everyone ELSE was spot-on and we got a standing-O again. weee I'm having so much fun with this. I'm gonna cry on Sunday. :( |
Oh, Megan it sounds wonderful and like your are having such a good time. I'm so glad you are enjoying yourself with this production. You're making great memories! I hope this is something you'll continue to do throughout your life. I did musicals and stage shows in highschool and then after college in Straw Hat and Theatre Guild until well into my grandmother' years! I've always loved it even when I'm exhausted. |
Ha ha ha. It's nice to hear the inside scoop, Megan. I'll bet you anything that none of the audience noticed a thing. I can't wait to see the video. I'll be looking for Chris' great escape and your drunken stage talking. Too much fun. Those are the things you will remember when you're ol, uh, my age. Congratulations again. How many more shows? |
Megan, it sounds like you're having a blast with the show! I'm sure no one even noticed the chair thing and imagine how fun it will be to tell that story years from now. :) I'm glad you've having a good time with the show. You deserve to be happy and I just love reading how excited you are about this. *hugs* |
*alaskayorkie waits impatiently for video, tapping feet* |
Megan, I'm so glad you're having such a blast with this! What a FUN part of your life, and "yes" - just think of the many funny stage stories to come! I was such a shy girl, I made myself take speech and drama in hs. I LOVED it, too! Quote:

I think I am going to pull up a chair and join the others ... * waiting impatiently for the video* .... LOL |
Megan! :) Sounds like it was a great show! :) I'm excited about that pink dress you were wearing....where's that pic?! :p Cant wait to see the vid! |
LOL, thanks guys! Sorry I didn't post them last night. I'm still trying to figure out how this computer works...and I was falling asleep sitting here so I went to bed. But I've got 20 minutes before I have to start getting ready, so I'll go at it again. BRB, hopefully! |
Sorry I'm not really going in order here. This is the one that uploaded for me (still working on the others). Its the very last part of the opening song "Belle." If you're looking for me, I'm the 3rd from the left (in the front line), and I'm next to the girl in the orange dress with the corset (I have an apron on). http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...heBeast001.flv I'm still trying with the others! |
sounds like great fun and a wonderful memory. Good job, I'd never be able to get out in front of all those people, kudos to you. |
Megan - it's almost as exciting watching this through your eyes as it would be to have been there. On your "adventure" during the show.... This woud be like what I tell girls getting married.... Few people remember a "perfect" wedding other than to remember generally that it was lovely. But if you throw in something that goes wrong or not according to plan, it only enhances the memory. And as years pass, stories begin to take on a life of their own. By the time you are telling your grandchildren about this, Chris may have slunk off the stage but will have thrown the chair back onto the stage where you adeptly caught it mid air and spun it around twice above your head before placing it on the floor!! And the crowd went wild........................ |
