A couple pics of the new house

I took these with my phone so excuse the quality.

1. The french doors in the dining area going out to the deck in the back yard

2. The fireplace and built in bookcase (that is going to be painted)

3. The kitchen (notice the easter egg green where the stove goes lol) I LOVE the white cabinets. We are going to paint the walls as soon as I make my mind up on the color before we move in (that way I don't have to move appliances a second time).


I'm so excited! I thought we were going to close on Wednesday, but Mike has to work on that day so we called to move it to Thursday. Well, they couldn't do it on Thursday, but said they could do it TOMORROW!

Oh and something I just realized, when we moved into this house I sold my vacuum cleaner to Mike's aunt because this house had all hardwood floors. Well, the new house is entirely carpeted except for the kitchen, laundry room, bathrooms, and play room. :rolleyes: So I have 4 rooms and a hallway with carpet and I have no vacuum cleaner lol! I guess we'll be getting a cheapie from Wal-Mart to get buy with until I can afford to replace my Dyson.

It's nice...love the view of the outside from the french doors. Wanna see a picture of the whole outside of the house now.

I know! I was expecting the closing to take a few weeks and was shocked that we were going to sign as early as Wednesday, and not to be closing TOMORROW wow!

I think it helped that we had all of our loan stuff, etc already done before we ever started looking. It also helped that the seller is in a hurry himself because he is anxious to get to his family in Maryland. (his wife and kids already moved and he stayed here to sell the house)

Thank you! It needs a little TLC and some cosmetic work, but it just FEELS so warm and inviting. Its one of those houses that makes you feel like it wants you in it. :)

Plus, we got a really good price on it since the seller was so anxious to sell.

I can't wait to take Poopanut to see it. She is going to LOVE the fenced in back yard and being able to run off leash.

That is a great fireplace! Good luck and have fun decorating. Make sure you post some after pics!

Thanks! I love the trees too. They make me feel more secure and not so exposed to the nosy rosies in this town. ;)

Yeah, I LOVE the fireplace. I hope we have just ONE more cold night after we move in because I can't wait to use it. Otherwise I'll be forced to turn the a/c on full blast and use it anyway! :p The steps leading up to the front porch are made out of that same stone, and it is also around the bottom of the house.

Just by the three pics you posted it looks like the type of house I would like. There's so much potential to make the house yours. I live in a modern 2 story/basement and I hate it.:( DH liked the huge lot and the view. I have a friend who lived in a house that was easy to make warm and cozy. She would pick up what I considered junk:eek: and turn it into the most darling project. Learned a lot from her but it takes me ages to figure it out.:confused:

I assume the closing went well and you have those keys in your hand!!!!!!

It went great! We ended up signing at 2:45 instead of 2:00 because they were running late and let me tell you, I nearly had heart failure. That was the longest 45 minutes of my life!
