Favorite Old Wives Tale??? OK thought this would be fun to see what everyone has to say. Want to know what is your favorite old wives tale that stands out in your mind that Mom or anyone that was older always told you. These are what come to mind so I'll start with Can't cut a babies hair before age of one or it will have speech problems:rolleyes: I came out the shower when I was a teenager and my hair was wet, my grandmother asked "don't you have your period" I'm like yeah. She had a face like this:eek: "you should never wash your hair when you have your period" huh ok :confused: |
Gum takes 7 years to digest. At that rate, I probably would've been MADE of gum by age 10. :D |
No swimming for 30 min after you eat or you will cramp. |

Don't rock an empty cradle- you'll end up an old maid. A bird in the house means someone's going to die. If your palm itches you will come into mney soon. LOL, this is fun- most of mine come from my late, great grandma- she was a hoot. |

Bad luck to give knifes as a gift to friends/ Family! I don't know why- I just got my sister a really, really knife set for Xmas one year- and My Mom freaked! Made my sister give me a quarter- to buy it from me so it would not be a "gift" It was a $100 knife set!! LOL |
