I dearly love living here on the central coast of CA. I feel I'm always on a permanent vacation. However, there is only one other place in this world I'd love to live and that is Spain. I lived in Madrid for 3 years and did not want to come back home. The climate is PERFECT, the people are fantastic, the country is breathtaking, the food can't be beat, the Mediterranean is the color of emerald and saphire, the entire coat is like a gem and I could go on and on, but I'm homesick already just visualizing this wonderful country. |

I am not against it as some seasons could look very beautiful but I am not build for the cold. This is only my second winter but I am still not getting used to it. I am so scared to even go out because I shake eventhough I wear layers. |

I would have to say any where there is sun, clear water and sand. I too am a FLORIDA girl...got to have my water and sun! :D |
Hawaii! I love love love it there... waikiki beach! aaaaahhhhh when I went there long ago it really felt like home, like I could be comfortable there. Its paradise! |
I would love to live in the mountains, build a beautiful log cabin home with a porch around the whole house and a huge swing, hot tub on the back porch, a creek running though the back yard, either in Colorado or Tennessee mountains. I WISHED!!!!!! |
HI! Greetings to Autumn and Blaze from their friend, Remi! We've found that the ideal place for us to live is right here on the North Fork of Long Island. Although it can get cold, it is always several degrees warmer here than NYC. This is because of the closeness of the water on both sides of us. Each year I say that I hate the winter, but once we get through it, we enjoy our springs, but more importantly, our wonderful summers here. We love the beach, the water, and even sitting on our deck. I think Remi loves the change in seasons too. He gets to wear all of his outfits. Great thread! |

I think Blaze would love running and chasing things w/Remi:thumbup: where Autumn would probably sit back and pretend she did not see anything:rolleyes: |

New Zealand:) |
Mascot Home, being military has kept me from there for 15 yrs and I still have 15 to go;) you never know how much you miss it till your gone. :D Dot (oh by the way home is Oklahoma) |
I agree with "home".... I worked for the government (30 years) and have traveled/lived in many, many places. When I retired I had the option to live anywhere in the world, guess what, I moved "home" to my roots, Iowa..... no place like home. I can travel anywhere, just like to have my roots.... |
The Island of Maui. I feel so alive when I'm there. Somehow, even though I'm not Hawaiian - I feel the Aloha spirit lives in me. Ahhhh, to dream........ |
Alaska in the summer and right here in Austin, Texas, in the winter. I live in Austin year round and love love love it! But I'd oh so love to live in a log cabin in Alaksa in the summer (I'm not hardy enough to take on the Alaska winters)! |

Seattle. Where the pine trees meet the ocean. |
Ultimately I would love to travel between two places. I love the Northeast, but as I get older the winters are hard to take and are far too long. I would love to summer here and winter somewhere ( anywhere ) where I did not have to where shoes or anything heavier than a sweater to keep warm .... Awwwwwww :island2: :martini: :island2: |
I would live in Hawaii, Brazil, anything tropical and hot:D |
Mascot Ok, I have a new answer... yesterday my hubby and I went to look at the Fleetwood travel motorhomes, WOW!!!! I never knew how luxury they could be, so now I want to travel for at least 10 yrs after we retire, we could travel to all our military friends homes and I told Robert there is plenty of room for a Yorkie!!! I could even travel to some yorkie rendevouz!!!!;) Dot |
I would probably choose a place that I have never lived before. I am thinking somewhere in northwest Arkansas or perhaps New Mexico near Santa Fe or the western slopes of Colorado. I would want four seasons, lots of trees, green grass, snow in the winter, but not such cold temps that you couldn't enjoy it -- and not in a tornado alley or hurricane area. I want to live on a nice piece of land with a little pristine stream in my back yard, plenty of wild life to enjoy and neighbors close by but just out of sight. |

Dot that sounds fantastic. I hope you are able to follow that dream! That was always our dream too, load up a couple of saddle horses in the horse trailer (full living quarters) and hit the road, be NPA - no permanent address. The older I get the less appealing that sounds. :D aaaahhh the dreams of youth. |
AFRICA it is!!!! 3 Attachment(s) I would have to say AFRICA - It's in my blood. Yes AFRICA it is!!!! However - somewhere deep in the African bushveld would really work for me!! To fall asleep with the roar of lions and awake to the call of the Fish Eagle....mmm that would do it for me... Yes AFRICA it is!!!!! |
My number one place to move to is Manhattan. And that's where I will move to. But I'd also really like to move to Ireland. I've wanted to go there foreverrrrrrrrrr, and I could spend hours and hours looking at pictures. |
