Wow and I thought I was the only one with OCD! lol All my movies/cd/and my book collection has to be in alphabetical order. My dishes in the dishwasher has to be loaded just right. My niece lived with me and my husband over the summer and I showed her how to load my dishwasher several times. She never did get it right, I think she just didn't want to load the dishwasher. My towels have to be folded a certain way. My clothes have to be hung up by color then by length in that color. I have an obsession about my house smelling awful. I wipe down everything, use the swifter thru out the day(when Little Man has accidents), mop at night, and vaccum the floors at night before going to bed. Spraying febreeze throughout the whole house before going to bed. The list goes on and on. The bad thing is hubby don't pick up after himself, but then again I don't really give him time too. |

I grew up with an OCD mother and have an OCD boyfriend so I am compulsive about NOT being compulsive LOL... Dawn |
[QUOTE=magnolia;1794702]I am OCD with my teeth! Brush them first thing in the morning, after every meal, before bed, and sometimes just because I think they need it. Cannot stand having "sweaters" on my teeth - must brush them clean! I'm not a gum chewer so to keep my mouth feeling fresh, I brush, brush, brush.[/QUOTE OMG.........that is so my husband. He averages about 8-10 teeth brushings per day and those are the ones that I see. His partner tells me he brushes his teeth at work several times a day too! He has toothpaste/toothbrush in his gym bag, his work desk and his glove compartment in his card! He just picked up his new car lastnight and I bet ifI went and looked right now his new toothbrush that he went and got lastnight will be inside the car! |
I also have OCD...A lot of times, when I'm walking, I count my steps  . And I HAVE to count the odd numbers on my right foot! I dislike odd numbers...so, since I'm left-handed (and footed), I want the even numbers on my left foot! If I am writing with a pencil and make a mistake, I use the eraser and HAVE TO wipe away ALL of the the eraser crumbs! I can't leave any of them on the paper. Sometimes (okay, often!) I count the dotted white lines in the middle of the road when I'm driving! But only up to 4. So, one, two, three, four, one, two, three...etc. etc. Wow...I just read all of what I wrote and scared myself! :p I'd better quit for now!! |
I have OCD, I think i have all my movies/cd's. in alphabetical order and i check my alarm clock several times a night before i go to bed to make sure i set it ,i check my door to make sure it is locked even though i just checked it.and i check my stove several times to make sure it is off .my towels have to be folded a certain way. |
i'm not really obsessive about much but when i'm baking or cooking, everything has to be just so. the cookies need to look and taste a certain way, or i'll get rid of them. i'm really obsessive about not over cooking or over baking anything because i don't like dry, burned food. i'm usually really good about turning off the stove, coffee maker, unplugging the iron, etc, so i don't typically have to go back and check or obsess over that. |
I have too many to mention and know if i read them on here i will start doing them! :( |
I can't eat or drink after anyone. I have to fold my laundry a certain way and if you help fold and don't do it my way I will refold. I give you instructions 2 or 3 times (this drives my kids bonkers) I know when something is out of place and have to fix it. I doubt myself the whole trip if I locked the front door. I hate even numbers. Oh and no one does the Christmas decorations right except me. I think thats it!:D :D :D |
I take a shower right after I take a bath:) |
My friends/family/co-workers all think I am OCD. I thought I was fairly normal. Hmmm, guess I could change people, places and playthings but I'd still be stuck with "me".....hehehe. I like who I am at this stage of my life so I guess I'm not gonna change. Yep, I do alot of the same things you guys do, I do admit to a clean towel every day, no dishes in the sink, no dirty laundry, yes, the list goes on forever..... |
I twiddle my thumbs all the time. I have to make things even - like the steps I take, etc. It drives my kids crazy even though they have the same OCD issues. I CAN control mine if I really set my mind to it. |
I have OCD I have never went to a doctor for it, But I know I have it. I check and recheck the door , stove things like that befor I go to bed, some times getting back up to do it again. I use to be pretty bad a bout it but I find that it has gotton better. I also go with evens not just evens but some times in fives. dont know why that is for sure, but I do. some times I drive myself crazy with it all. :D |
There are so many I couldn't list them all and some of these are getting better. If I turn in a desk chair one way, I have to turn in it the other. I always play word games in my head and rearrange letters in those words to make new ones. I always have to check to make sure the stove is off. I used to have to touch things or do things an even number of times. When reading a paragraph I sometimes have to count the lines in it. I have to keep going over things in my head to make sure I remember them (like memorization of something stupid that isn't necessary). |
ooohhh OCDs! Im not really a compulsive person but I have a few quirks for sure 1. cannot go to bed without washing my feet, the thought of dirty feet on my clean sheets GROSSES me out! My friends all make fun of me, I could be falling down drunk but I never forget to wash my feet and brush my teeth! 2. Chapstick! I cannot leave the house w/o chapstick. I make sure I have it and double & triple check that I have some before I go anywhere! I could leave w/o my wallet or my phone, but never my chapstick! haha 3. The TP HAS to be from the top! I will fix it at other people's houses if its from the bottom! Thats all I can think of for right now... but these are all too funny! I love OCDs! :) LOL |
