Hello, my name is Amie and I have OCD:D !!!! I always check and recheck that I have blown out the candles I have to recheck that my alarm is set atleast 3x's I can not have anything w/odd #'s (thankfully me, hubby and kids all were born on an even day:thumbup: ) I can NEVER EVER EVER drink or allow someone to drink out of my glass:mad: They way dishes go in the dishwasher........if it is not just right - it just sets me off The placemats on the kitchen table..........just don't touch them, must you turn them out of place!:thumbdown My biggest OCD would have to be w/cleaning and exercising! If I don't get in atleast one hour of working out a day..........Im ruined until the next day! Wow............maybe I need a therapist! |
I have to also check the alarm and the time at least a few times before I sleep in case I might wake up late. I have to ask hubby again and again what his plans are for the coming day or two at least 2 times or more because I tend to forget. I have to check and recheck the door of the house if its closed and locked properly in case its not and my yorkie might escape. The other thing is YT...once I start checking on YT, I can't stop throughout the day but if I don't start I am okay. Also, if I have pots; their covers has to be used together. I cannot stand it when my hubby take one of the covers and use it with another pot/pan. |
I have a funny OCD story. My 12 year old nephew has serious OCD. Anyway, he was at my other sister's house and my brother in law had been working on a puzzle for days. He finally finished it the night before my nephew slept over. It was laid out on a table in the den. Well, Shawn was in there and he took the puzzle apart and put it back in the box. He said he was just "cleaning up". Everyone (except my brother in law) thought it was hysterical! |
I like to have a plan..... or a schedule. I want to know what is going to happen and what I am going to do next. Very seldom do I do things "spur of the moment" . I don't know if it is OCD.... or if I am just a control freak!.... I don't like it when things are not organized. |
I am a big organizational freak. I have to have my things in the right place always. Our movies on our shelves are in alphabetical order and my CD's are as well in my CD binder. I hate it! I get so nervous if it is out of order. Also, my closet use to be organized by color, then within the color was sleeve length. Since I had my son I haven't been as bad with that one, mainly because of time issues. When I dated DH I would go into his closet and organize it because it drove me nuts! His mom never did it right. LOL I NEVER let ANYONE do my laundry. They can never wash/fold the clothes the way I like so I refuse to let anyone try. Can I join a support group??? HEHE |

I am OCD with my teeth! Brush them first thing in the morning, after every meal, before bed, and sometimes just because I think they need it. Cannot stand having "sweaters" on my teeth - must brush them clean! I'm not a gum chewer so to keep my mouth feeling fresh, I brush, brush, brush. |
I am OCD with the coffee pot.. irons.. my front door.... geez.... |
i'm a purell addict. i can't touch any common surfaces in a public place without using purell. i'm obsessed with making sure my york doesn't sneak out the door with me when i leave the house. i have to make sure he is in the window and then i call home to make sure he didn't get out. |
1. I can't stand to have dirty dishes in the sink. The rest of the house can look like a hurricane just hit, but you won't find a dirty dish in my sink. 2. If I hand write something and make a mistake, I have to copy it over until it looks perfect. 3. I keep repeating things in my head, like the pass code to get into my office or my debit card pin. I count the steps as I go down them. I always have a song in my head that I can't get rid of. 4. I keep checking to make sure I turned off the coffee pot, even though it has an automatic shut off. I will even turn around and come back home to check it. So, does of any of this sound like OCD? |

I check the iron, curling iron, etc... constantly. Sometimes I am half way down my street and have to turn the car around and double-check. My husband now knows to check those things before we leave. I am obsessed with matching. My clothes, household items, etc... They HAVE to match or it drives me crazy. If I lose something I will tear my house apart until I find it. I become completely obsessed with finding that item, it is ALL I can think about. This list could go on all night... |
OCD by smell!! My nose has OCD!!! If I walk in my house and the faint scent of pinesol or bleach isnt present, I find something to clean! I also am OCD about my laundry!! If I am not there to take it out when its warm and immediately fold it to perfection, then I throw a damp cloth back in the dryer with the clothes and "resteam" dry them and pull them out warm!! (and I wander why Im still single!!) My new boyfriend doesnt truly know what he's getting into! Heeheehee!!! |
I like to buy/have things in odd numbers- mostly THREES. If I'm writing something and I mess up, I have to start over on a new piece of paper. I'm obsessed with things matching. If I'm buying something (say a Christmas ornament) I have to look through every single one to make sure I pick out the one that is most perfect. I also have to check multiple times to make sure I've turned things off or locked the door. I'm obsessed with straight lines and perfection. I rearrange things over and over again until I am happy. At Christmas I had to redo (take ALL the ornaments and stuff off) the tree twice! I refuse to buy furniture with curved lines. I feel so weird if I don't use (somewhat) proper grammar online.. especially when it comes to capitalization and periods. And there are SO many more.. :p |
