So. We have a CALF in the house, AGAIN!
 
Well. My mom just called and we have a baby calf in the house that was almost frozen to death. It's sooo tiny! I am at my house I'm in college out of state. So I can't see, they are supposed to send me pictures. We've had to do this a couple of times before and they just live in the living room, kinda weird. But it's worth it.... So I'm so excited to go home and see him! The momma wasn't producing milk, and it's supposed to ice/snow tonight. Dad is trying to get her up so we can put it in the barn with it's momma, and we'll just bottle feed it. It's just too cold now!! Poor baby! Nothing like living on a farm!! :D

I know. I can't wait to get them. Unfortunately they don't have the internet there, I'm waiting to have my sis send one to my cell. I love those babies!

LOL! That sure brought back some memories! We used to raise goats and at one time had around 200 of them. Many times I had one (or 2 or 3....) in the house! I put baby diapers on them so it wasn't a mess.

I hope they can get the calf warmed up and back with its mama!

I know! I love the farm! I hate being away at school. But. At least I got to see pics! Isn't she cute!

Thank you!!! I will keep you updated! Mom said she has her ears up now, so maybe she'll be okay! Last time we had one in the house was during basketball regionals (my dad is a coach) and we did soooo good and this week, tomorrow actually is regionals and my dad still coaches and my sissy plays. So it's pretty ironic. We named the last one Reggie for regionals... So. We're thinking of a name.

Oh how much fun! That baby is an absolute beauty! I love cows, and have always wanted a pet cow.

Over the years we have had severak miniatures in the house to warm up and get going.

Thank you! I love cows too! I'm so glad that I've had the opportunity to be around them and help my family as much as I have. I love the farm life. I wouldn't trade it for the world. We actually show steers too, and so for about a year and a half I would have a "pet steer" they would get so tame they would be like puppies, we could sit down beside them and lean on them to sleep. Animals are amazing!

Thank you! I love the farm life!!! I miss it while I'm finishing up my degree. I love the weekends!

Well. We used to have a variety of animals. Cattle, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks, i think goats, etc. But my grandpa got to where he just had cattle, and my dad has cattle too. After my grandpa passed away a couple of years ago my grandma didn't want to have to sell the cattle, but didn't want anyone to burden themselves (they have 4 sons) to take care of them. But my dad sold a couple of his an offered to put Grandpas cattle with his and take care of them for grandma. So we run an average of 80 head of cattle and right now I think we have 20 babies, but it's times for alot more, we calve in March/April/May. I love this time of year!!! We have about 400 acres, and we bail hay. Our house/barn is connected with the pasture that is connected to grandmas barn/barn lot/house. So we're all right there together. I love it!

**update**
 
Well. As of this morning the baby is in our barn with her momma. She is doing great. Dad brought her in just in time!!! My mom nursed and loved on her and last night she was walking around the house. Dad is still going to bottle feed her, we're not sure that the mom is producing enough milk. She'll be ok! I'm so happy! :D :D

Awww, that is so sweet! I love calves also! I used to live in the country so I miss seeing cows & calves outside my window!

I know. I love animals. I'm such a sucker for any animal. I really do love our cows though, they are spoiled rotten. They are all (all 80 mommas and their babies) like pet dogs. Especially for dad. They think the world of him. It's so funny.

Your story reminds me of when I was a child and my grandparents (farmers) would bring in calfs to the livingroom in front of the fireplace to warm them up. That is such a great memory for me:D

I know. I love those memories. Thats us, fireplace and all! :) Farms are GREAT! :D
