The investigator called me this morning and was suppose to be sending me a email, well I am still waiting. I hope they know who is doing it and put them away for a long time |
I hope they catch them too. It sucks that it is so hard to catch ppl doing stuff like this, especially if they are going through a proxy server. |
holy crap! that scared me just reading it on here. I think I would have cried if I had gotten it. That's terrifying, and sick, sick, sick. Good for you contacting the police, hopefully they can catch this sick monster. |
Geez that is scary and good to know about Limewire! People are DUMB!!!! |

I yeah that 2! And i am still waiting on the investigator email, i know she will most likely call in the morning. Argggh I am glad this really wasnt a true threat but still they should treat it that way. |
Officer Chris got intouch with me today after i found her email on the website here is what she stated: Joy, I am sorry if I dropped the ball on the email. Your problem email is a well known scam which originates from Russia. The FBI is investigating it and I will forward your email to Special Agent Cochran here in Pensacola so that he may add your complaint to the list. This particular email appears to be routed from Amsterdam through yahoo into gmail. Many times these scam artiest hijack peoples accounts who buy porn or other items from overseas merchants the unsuspecting victim is tricked into giving his password by making him or her believe that they are logging into a legitimate email site and the suspects use these emails to forward these threats in order to obtain funds from frightened people while at the same time, masking their identity. The good news is that I can assure you that there is no hit-man on your trail and I recommend that you do not correspond with this guy. Simply block him with your spam filter. Also, Let me give you a site where you can report any illegal activity you see on the net. Especially crimes involving children. You can google "cybertipline" and it will take you to http://www.missingkids.com/cybertip/ the National Center for Missing or Exploited Children. They are the clearing house for activity involving children and the internet but I am told they will accept other types of crimes and forward them to the proper law enforcement agency. Again I am very sorry if I did not send you my email. Let me give you my office and cell number should you have any more concerns. Chris Wilkinson |
I'm so glad that they got back in touch with you. Good to know that it is just a scam...but it isn't funny either way! |
Yeah I am really happy she did because I was worryinig about where did it come from why me etc, they also sent me a second email just the same and I sent them both to chris, the second one came last night. I just have to be safer online and not do anymore surveys because i think that a lot of survey companies sell your email address or something. |
