Update and New Pics Of Baby Mikey 4 Attachment(s) Hi there Everyone, Sorry I have not been around much.. I am busy keeping Babybear going in his wheelchair and also keeping up with every group we are in.. Have another pup(Bubba) that we believe has Megaesphogus.. Between the both a lot of work.. I was asked tonight how Mikey was doing by Malissa.. Thank you again Malissa for asking.. Mikey is growing like a week. He is now 8 months old. Wow how time has flown by.. He is not quite caught up to where he should be age wise but he is getting there.. He rolled from belly to back for he first time yesterday.. And it was like a big party.He is always a happy little guy.. Never a sad face on him.. He is always smiling.. I just can't get enough of him..He will be going in for eye surgery on March 15 to have both eyes operated on.. He has very lazy eyes but it is both and the only way to fix them is surgery. The doctor gave us a 85 percent chance that he would not need another surgery after this one.. So we are praying he is right.. I know hurry Val we want to see pics right??LOL Okay I will not leave you in suspense any longer... |
What a sweet baby face. You can almost hear his giggle in the last picture. My daughter had that eye surgery done when she was 14 months old. Then she was given prescription glasses which corrected her vision to what a 14 month old's vision is...in hopes her brain would help her sight develop naturally. Her eyesight improved a great deal (she's 15 now), but never enough to eliminate wearing corrective lenses. Wishing the best for Mikey and his surgery. I think it was much harder on me and my husband than my daughter. :) |

He has Hydrocephalus so this is one reason why he needs this surgery and another Strubusiness (SP?) runs in my son in-law's side of the family... Poor Mikey got double whammied..Oh I think I have a better pic than that of him and momma laughing.. let me see if I can find it.. His smile and laughs are contagious.lol |

My daughter was near sighted (she couldn't focus far away...I get the far sighted/near sighted confused)...and strabismus. Her eye strayed inward attempting to focus. If you see something on tv about Anna Nicole's daughter....her left eye turns in. That's how my daughter looked. My nephew has celebral palsy. He had strabismus also. It's very common in children with celebral palsy. He was given glasses, however, because of his palsy he never wears them. The surgery hadn't corrected his vision enough not to need glasses Mikey may very well wear his glasses without any problem or perhaps he won't need them at all. I was amazed a 14 month old would leave glasses on her face. I even commented on that to the doctor...who told me...you'll be surprised...it won't take her long to realize she's sees better with them than without them. |

Oh I do have a pic of him with glasses he likes to steal his momma's glasses he is so funny he steals his Gigi's glasses too.. Oh did I mention he loves to make messes..LOL I added a few more pics of him. Thank you all for keeping him in your prayers.. He truly shows that Yorkie talk prayers goes a long long way.. He came from death to be what he is today a joy and a half.. Thank you all very much.. |

Mikey man Update I just had to share the joy this little one brings to all of us.. You all prayed so much for him when he went through his terrible ordeal last year.. I just had to come and spread his joy to you all.. Now if this is not a happy baby I dont' know what is.. Hope you all enjoy this sweet little baby... I sure do.. |
Oh Val! Thank you so much for sending me the PM about this.... it just made my day!! How is that sound of Mikey's laugh? Is that little baby giggle not just the best music in the entire world? That little guy looks like he is just thriving! I have not been on YT for many weeks, until a few days ago. Oh my is that just the cutest giggle? It's so nice to see him doing and looking so well after all he whent through so soon in life. We had almost lost our son Kennedy when he was a baby, and I know the JOY it is to hear that giggle and to think that it was almost never heard. What a true miracle!! |
Thank you everyone for your kind words... It surely means a lot..I just had to share this video with all of you so you could see how far Mikey has come.. I still can not imagine that a little over 9 months ago he died in my daughters arms from Spinal Menigitous and now he is a happy Baby that smiles at everything.. He hardly ever cries.. He is so special to us.. HE has changed my life that is for sure.. Thank you again for taking the time to see his video and the time you all spent praying for him. |
