I doubt they would change the date for just 1 child, but that's a nice thought lol

Denise, I'm sorry you had to make such a difficult decision. But you will look back & be so glad you were there with your daughter. My daughter danced from age 3 until her graduation last year. She not only had recitals, but was part of the dance competition team & attended competitions several times a year, I wouldn't have dreamed about missing one -- it all goes by so fast, even when its stressful.

My daughter's former studio is having recital that same weekend & I love the teachers (they're actually the ones who were Bubba & Roxy's first owners) & the studio so much, that I too thought about not going to the meetup so I could go to the dance recital this year. :rolleyes:

I wish I had the money to put you on a 6 am flight Saturday morning to KC so you could be there with us!! I was so looking forwarding to meeting you & Maddie. But you're going to be in the right place :thumbup:

I just can't believe this happened, Denise! Of all the days for a recital, it had to be during the YT meet up that you so badly wanted to attend! This is the second time you planned to go and it fell through. I still remember how bad I felt when you got struck with migraines just before the other meet up. Too much disappointment for you!

As far as your decision, I'm glad you have it decided. Little Lexi is going to be so cute in that recital. You'll have to do a video for all of us to see.

I'm so glad you decided to go to the recital...I remember when my daughter was three and had her first dance recital.....ohhhh how I cried at it...the emotions were so overwhelming...its something I will never forget and if you were to skip that you would never feel those emotions....video tape just isn't the same.....Part of being a parent is tough choices...but kids should always be the first choice...way to go....

Denise - I feel for you. You know how badly I wanted to meet you in person, too!!!!

I know you have made your decision, but one more thought - when is the dress rehearsal? It is a great alternative to being there for the recital.....

my daughter also did dance and her 1st recital, it was so hectic and they only were on stage for less them 5 minutes.

I know you want to be there for her, and I totally understand. I'm SO bummed that it has to be on our date!

I'am talking with a YT member who lives 1 hour from me and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will go. I don't know her like I know you, but who knows, maybe we can become great friends and since she is so close to me, then we can have play dates!

That's a good thought. What about watching the dress rehearsal? I know the studio I took dance from ran the dress rehearsal just like the actual recital.

I just hate that you aren't going :( I was really looking forward to meeting you and seeing Maddie in person
