I'm desperate. I need some serious Prayers
 

Hi all. I wouldn't have posted if I wasn't in total despair. I know we all have our fun here, but something serious has been happening in my personal life. I really need some prayers from my friends here. So I will give you a short version of the story (I need to tell someone, it's driving me crazy). 4 days before Christmas, my brother in law was arrested for some white colar crime. He maintains that he did nothing wrong and his attorney is now unconvering that he has been telling the truth all along. But they have to wait for the trial. Anyways, my sister has been a stay at home mom, and now they're trying to pin her for conspiracy. Some my only family is falling apart before my eyes. Now the bank wants to take my parents house. So not only do we have to come up with $60,000 in a couple of weeks, to pay for the attorneys for my sister and her husband, but also the real estate attorney so that my parents don't loose their house. Of course all of our savings were cleared out for the first half of the attorneys fees in the beginning. We don't have any family, so it's just us. So all we're praying for is a miracle to happen. My dad just had 2 heartattacks from all the stress. The only one who entertains us is my 3 year old nephew and Coco. The reason I'm bringing it up now is because I can't take it anymore. We just keep getting bad news upon bad news. So please send some prayers my way, I really need them. Thanks for listening and letting me vent.

They can't take out a loan because of what's happening to their house. I wish we could, that would make it so much less stressful.

I'm sorry! I send my best wishes, and Buddy sends puppy hugs and sloppy kisses. We're all here for you on YT, and I think everyone is sending their best wishes and hoping things will improve as soon as possible for you.

It's terrbible when innocent people have to suffer. Can they maybe arrange some type of payment schedule? or do they have to hand over the money in one lump sum?

Im not sure how to cover the legal fees that already exist but what about going to legal aid and getting any attorney free of charge?

Oh I'm so sorry for what you are going through. :( I will definately pray for you and your family that this issue gets resolved quickly and that you all find peace and comfort and stay in good health. I'm glad you at least have your little coco and nephew to comfort you, sometimes they are the only things that can bring a smile to your face. :) While I can't begin to understand what you are going through, I am always here if you need to talk.

I'm sorry I didn't understand -- Does the bank want to take your parent's house because of the crime they say your brother committed? If so, I can't see them formally proceeding on any action until he has gone to court and been convicted. If they are trying to repo the house for failure to pay, your parents might consider doing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy or chapter 7 (depending on the laws in your state). Chapter 13 will typically allow them to keep their house as long as they are not so far behind and without the other debt burdening them, they could make the payment easier.

No my brother in law owned a mortgage company. So since my parents house was under the umbrella of his company, the bank and DA's think the house or my parents were somehow also involved. So their credit and mine (my name was also on the house incase something happened to them) is destroyed, so no chance for a loan. We've tried to approach legal aid but they say the case is too complicated for them. We've been dealing with this for 6 months now, I've lost over 15 lbs, just from the stress and I can't handle my family being torn to bits like this. We've never had any problems with the law, EVER. Not even so much as a traffic ticket. I am grateful for whatever health we have left but it's getting to me and I can't take the stress anymore.

Sending prayers...BUT why do they want to take yoiur parents house?...are they saying that your brother put "illegal" money into the house or something..or are they being foreclosed on from helping with legal fees? If so I was going to also suggest legal aid...what happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?

My prayers are with you and your family! I can't even imagine what you must be going through! I am so sorry that your family has to go through this especially when he is innocent!

They think that my brother in laws company played around with the money from my parents' house. So my parent's real estate attorney is trying to prove that neither my brother in law nor the company had no money in this house, that my parents paid it all on their own. You would think that would be easy to prove, but the attorney is taking forever, so he can get more money.

That is ridculous.... I don't understand how in America someone can just come and take your house???

Too complicated? THEY ARE F'N ATTORNEY"S! If they cant handle it then they have NO need for a law degree.

15 pounds? Holy crap. Not only is that LOT to lose at once, you;re already so tiny.

I wish I had some words of wisdome but sadly, I dont. i have gone through similiar experiences and I know how hard it is.

It may not be much, but you have friends here who care about you and are here when you need a shoulder to cry on!

At times like this I wish I would have went to school to be a lawyer instead of a social worker. All the advice I can give you is to keep yourself healthy. In order to be there for everyone else you need to take care of yourself. You know you have lots of prayers being said for you by your YT friends. Coco is a great stress buster most of time I am sure, but find something the two of you can do together, walks, puppy play groups. Keep yourself healthy, then you can help in the little ways your family needs you. You are in my prayers. Reading and laughing on here helps too I am sure so you need lots of doses of Yorkietalk!

They can take your house in any country... pretty sad but even if you own a house you don't really because ultimately the government can come and take it off you if they feel they need the property for something or if they believe something illegal was done to obtain the house. :mad: :thumbdown Having said that...

Nobella, I'm so sorry about all this. I wish I could do something to help on the legal end, but I am only a 3rd year law student, not an attorney yet. However, I think there are at least 3 attorneys here on YT, so maybe they will see this and can at least offer another legal perspective.

Although I don't know all the details, I still don't understand how they can take your parent's house until your brother in law has been found guilty of the alleged crime and even if he is found guilty, I still think they have trouble taking it unless they can prove your parents knew about or participated in something illegal having to do with the house.

Also, the only thing this should be affecting is your parent's ability to put the house up for collatteral for a loan, other than that, their credit and yours should be fine. Keep trying, maybe there are other avenues to help the financial situation. You know the saying ..........when God closes one door he opens another.

Thank you so much for all of your kind words. It's amazing that even though we've never met each other, we can still care about one another. I am crying as I read your loving and supportive responses. I just want my family back, house and all. I see people happy on the street or on vacation and get so envious because I used to have that with my family. I am still grateful for a lot of things but it's just hard. It's hard to see my dad cry when I've never seen him do so. I've been ok, but since we got the news of the $60k yesterday, it's brought me down a lot. I know we don't have even a close amount to that. I don't know whats going to happen, but I am praying every minute of the day for a miracle. I hope God can hear me. I don't think my family or their health could take any more bad news.

I\'m so sorry to hear this. Stuff like this makes me sick because I work in a law firm and I see twisted stuff happen all the time. It\'s really a crime when innocent people are made to suffer. Please know that we all love you and you have our support.

We come here to have fun and talk about our Yorkies..but we all have real life\'s and need to support one another.

You are not alone, none of us are..GOD loves you and cares for your every concern...we all care about you.

You know the ironic thing is that my parents have always been so giving and nurturing of others in their hard times. They have devoted their whole lives and taught my sister and I to help others and donate. Right before all of this happened, my sister and her husband donated over 3 million dollars to the local churches and hospitals. Now our whole community has completely turned their back on us. We are like outcasts in our own town. Sometimes we can\'t even go grocery shopping without being bombarded by reporters. They live in a small town where everyone knows each other. My family was like the example family of the town, now we\'re just the butt of the jokes. I guess you always know who really loves you when you don\'t have money.

We know you didn\'t post for donations, but YT is a family. I\'ve only been here a short while, but already people have showed how caring they can be. Having gone through something like this personally, I\'d love to do whatever I can to help.

Oh, I am so sorry for you and your family, but I\'m not in the least bit surprised by it. I live in a small town in KY, down around here you are guilty until proven innocent. I have seen more lives destroyed and families torn apart since moving here in 90 than I had in all the years I lived up north outside of Detroit. Here, your name is put in the paper upon arrest! A nice couple I go to church with is moving to Mexico because they arrested their son on pornography charges, and although the charges were dismissed everyone thinks he\'s guilty. His mother had to quit her job with the school, and they just can\'t live here anymore now. I have so little faith in the judicial system anymore.
I will pray for you guys and spread the word, it\'s all I can do for you and your family. Try to remember though, everything, and I mean everything happens for a reason, you just can\'t always see it until later. Right now, that doesn\'t help much, I know. But you have to hang in there and stay healthy for those that need you!
