Ugh!!! We had our issues with USPS too. Our mailman is really lazy. I live in a large apartment complex and all of our mailboxes are inside and he has one special key that unlocks all the boxes at the same time so he can put everyones mail in it's own special box. Well one time he put everyones (in our particular building) mail into one box. The lady across the hall knocked on our door and said, looks like I got everyones mail today and she walked around knocking on everyones door, handing out the mail. We called and reported him, of course they say they will say something and chances are they don't. Today we were suppose to recieve a check from my husbands work via USPS and it didn't show up. We call his employer and they said well it should of arrived today. I'm sure it's just sitting up at the post office. |
I bought clothes for Kayah from a YT member a while ago.. she sent me a message giving me my tracking number.. this was the 19th of Jan. I paid a lot of money for those clothes..... where the f*** is my package?!!!! So I sent USPS a message here is what they wrote: Thank you for contacting us about the status of your mail piece, 9101 7850 9140 1417 6777 07. The item has been accepted into the mailstream on January 19, 2008. No further information is available at this time. Complete tracking information is only available for Express Mail® items. Services that confirm delivery are designed to be a low cost alternative to full tracking. Electronic Delivery Confirmation™ may, but is not required to, provide the date and time when it was picked up or accepted for shipment. I will be happy to document this issue. However, I need some additional information so this can be sent to the correct office and you can be contacted: - Full name of the sender - Address of the sender - Location the mail item was sent from (sender’s residence, other residence / business, Post Office™ ZIP Code™, Collection Box®, or unknown) - Time and date the mail item was sent - Contents of the mail item and value - Whether you would like to receive a call regarding this issue (There is no guarantee that further information can be provided via email.) - If you suspect foul play: - Do you know who was involved? - Do you know the name(s) of whom you suspect? - Was it a Postal employee? - Do you have a description? If I can be of assistance to you in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for choosing the United States Postal Service®. Regards, Angelique Customer (EDITH ********)01/29/2008 06:15 PMHI. My tracking number is: 9101 7850 9140 1417 6777 07 On your site it says that shipping normally takes 2-4 days. Today is day 10 and it says that my package hasn't even left the original facility.. where is my package? Very polite... but she STILL didn't answer where my package is |
Thanks all of you for validating my experiences with the USPS. They seem to try really hard, and if everything goes as it's suppose to it can be close to miraculous. But! If a package doesn't go through the system as it's suppose to, God have mercy on you, because it's like it disappeared into a huge black hole in space. I tried to sell paperbacks on Ebay but had to give it up because they kept getting lost, one took a month to deliver and was only recovered after I insisted the postmaster trace it. It wasn't worth the hassle. |
I have to agree with Jencar...all of us Postal Employees are not bad, evil smoking cell-phone talkers!! :D Some of us really do try to do the best we can and get the mail out in a timely manner!! Really, we do!!! I think you would be absolutely AMAZED at the sheer VOLUME of mail received each and every day at your local post office. Also, most mail carriers work 6 days a week every single week. They are at their PO and have to sort the mail for their route, 1st class letters, 1st class flats and 3rd class mail...along with packages and other things. You know how much junk mail you get.....well just multiply that by the 100's and that is how much mail your carrier is dealing with daily. Not to mention all the people who have multiple people with multiple names living in their homes....people hate to get the wrong mail, but woe be until the mail carrier who "THINKS" that isn't the correct name and returns it...that is the week that the cousin is staying with that particular postal patron and it is a life and death letter, and JUST WHY was it not delivered...even if that name isn't the one on the box??? Also,, mail is always and I mean ALWAYS misaddressed by the senders, numbers are juxtaposed or left off...and yet the carrier is expected to get it there and most times they do. I haven't even mentioned the forwarding and the temporary forwarding and the dogs that bite...and I could go on and on. I will get off my soapbox now....and I do know there are horrible Post Office employees ( I work with one in particular that I would love to strangle myself, personally) but all and all with the volume of mail these people deal with...I think most of them do a dang fine job!! Have you hugged your Postal Worker today???:D |
I didn't say all postal employees are bad- just all of the ones that I have encountered (which is a lot considering I've lived in two states and multiple places :p). Well- my package didn't show up today (and I'm shocked ) so hopefully it'll come on next week. ETA: Monday- if you see our postal man, ask him when he plans to delivery my cowboy boots. :p |

Kyle, I know it's frustrating, and maddening about your delayed package and I'm sorry your experience with the PO employess has been so rotten. The good ones are out there - I promise! Now, can we bash the "customer no service" I receive when I call our cable company, electric company, bank, etc....?:p :D |

I saw a lady on Dr Phil a couple of days ago that got so fed up with Comcast's lack of response she took a hammer to their office and beat their phone and computer to pieces. Her reasoning; "if I didn't have a phone that worked, they shouldn't either!" She was like 76 years old  Although I in no way condone what she did, I have to admit...a small part of me was saying "You Go Grandma!":D |

LuvTheCooper, HOW did you know???? That was exactly what he was wearing. And just because we are paranoid, does not mean people are not after us. :2omg: Mel Gibson was right ... there is a conspiracy. Oh, and the mail man also asked me where he can go for "line dancing" lessons. |
