Did ou know people can look our names up and see our posts here?
 
Yup if some one types in any of our screen names our posts from YT come up and they can read what ever we have written. most posts are about our babies and it's no big deal. But sometimes people type in personal info and they may not realize it can be seen by any one wanting to look it up. I just thought every one should know. My sister put my screen name in Google and up came my posts! She told me after the fact!:eek:

I got more hits when I typed in my screen name, versus my real name. I try to keep the personal info to a minimum though.

Yes that is for the search on here. But unless you use your real name as your screen name, who, besides someone you gave it to, would know your screen name on here was related to your real name? The pm post don't come up do they?

ALL your posts come up. Like I said not a big deal unless you write something like a prayer request you don't want any one you KNOW in real life to know... :rolleyes:

My family knows I come on here, and they don't care. But if there should ever be a prayer request or something I would like to know it couldn't be so easily looked up! This screen name thing works on ALL computers. They don't need your pass word to get the info..Really not very fair IMO.:thumbdown

what happened to privacy rights...i mean i love the computer and all put people can find out everything and certain things arent their business...i mean i dont post anything that i have to hide but in general with even the phone number look up that gives the address is alil too much also

When you post on a public forum, you don't have mmuch in the way of privacy rights. You are forgoing those when you post. Just like anyone can look at the YorkieTalk website and see your posts, they can search your username and see your posts. It becomes public information.

Yeah I see that. I guess it was just a shock to hear from my sister a cross the US tell me she looked up my screen name and all this stuff from yt came up! My goodness I was surprised.:eek:

It is the internet :) Nothing that we do is private my dear... Or at least thats how I look at it.... I have nothing to hide and I definately dont put any personal information anywhere.... For this very reason :D

You'd be surprised what you can find out about someone based on bits and pieces of what they say on here....they don't even have to ever use their real name.

My screen name brings up one link to a thread I started on avatars lol nothing else, unless of course they are extremely nosey and click my name but even then they have to make an account. But honestly I dont have have anything I didnt want the world to see so Im ok...sometimes we do forget that YT is open to everyone not just the members we have come to know.

you have to click repeat the search with the omitted results included. to show all posts you have made. Also, non-YT members can search your other posts and threads I think
