What color is the inside of YOUR house? I painted the inside of my house a couple of months ago and now I am wishing we would of gone with a more neutral color... frustrating since we spent all that money on paint but I think I am willing to make the investment again, my biggest problem the first time was imagining how it would look on my walls, so with that in mind, what is the color of your house? Please...:) |
All of our walls are still white, I think were going to paint this summer, but it's hard to pick a color. We painted our bedroom pink, and while I loved the idea...it's too energetic and it takes me like 40minutes to fall asleep in it! |
Our bedroom/bathroom is a light, airy, ocean blue, our living room and entry way is a yellow green, and our kitchen is a sandy brown. We left the hallway between our living room and bedroom an off-white. :) |
white, white, and more white.. errghh.. hate it. we have been remodeling for what seems like forever. the only room finished is my little boy's "cars" room it is blue and grey with a cars border, car bed, car everything lol. anyways.. I like the neutral color pallete. or the "muted" tones.. then if you want to liven it up you can add accents, pictures, throw blankets, curtains, etc. I like the chocolate/teal look, and the chocolate/light pink/cream scheme.. |
My whole house is white with the exception of the downstairs bathroom which is a pale blue and my master bathroom which is a soft pink. I would like to paint a few rooms in a light tan or beige to get away from all the white... Hummmm, maybe one of these days I'll get ur done :D |
I live in an apartment and they don't allow you to paint over these yucky white walls. I hate it! You bet this summer when we move I'll have colorful walls. The only thing that is even close to paint is my sons Disney themed room. |
The inside of our entire house including the garage is rhinestone. It is a very pale blue/gray. I love it! |
My main kitchen/living room is a warm yellow and most of the rest is a light cocoa color. My bedroom is an ocean blue! :) |
Most of my house is painted in light beige, creamy sort of colours. It is still light and bright, but not as stark as white (which we used to have) Sheilagh |
All white excpet my kitchen is a light blue, I love blue, have a blue stone floor with matching blue carpet:) oh and my bath is light blue to;) |
I love color. My kitchen is bright yellow and blue, my parlor is cream with with swag border in gold and maroon roses and green leaves with matching curtains. bathroom is sea-mist green and navy blue. bedroom is sky blue with sand color carpet, nautical theme. Craft room is just light blue for now. |
Foyer - white w/blue trim. Living room is white with light blue accent wall & trim. Den - three walls are a lighter wine color. Hard to explain. Not as deep as wine; but, not really red either. Ceiling white and one very pale cream accent wall. Trim is white. I LOVE it. Bedroom white w/rose color accent wall & trim. Kitchen - pale yellow and white cabinets w/red (yes, RED) doors! Sounds terrible, but I find it cheerful. I have an apple theme in there. I used to be afraid of color; but, have learned it's fun and cheerful. And, if I don't like it - hey, it's only paint, and can be repainted! |
My house is very many colors. Formal LR: Mint green Dinning Room: Terracotta and Peach w/grape vines for hubby's wine theme Kitchen: handpainted w/terracotta bricks and murals Family room: Pinkish brown (its called saint martin sand) Foyer and hallways: Same as Family room Master BR: Gold and Burgundy w/palm tree murals Master Bath: Saint martin sand w/palm tree murals Kids Bath: Aqua w/fish murals Hunters Room: Red/light blue/white Lexis Room: Lavender and white Spare room: Soft sea green I guess I should consider myself kind of eclectic.:) |
deep aqua blue, deep chocolate brown and white in the bedroom and lighter aqua on an accent wall in the living room |
I love my kitchen. We painted it with sand paint so it has a texture. It is a dark blue like a super dark aqua blue. We got gold sprinkles at the paint counter to put in it so it has gold sprinkles going through it. We accented with tan and burgundy. We live in an old Victorian type house so it just goes so well. We are going to paint the living room sage green. It is white right now. My bathroom is a spring green. |
1 Attachment(s) here is a pic i took a couple of weeks back of hubby's gift to me but you can see the color of my walls in the back... this is the color I am debating on changing.... |
I've decided that when I paint again, I'm going back to an off white, a country white. I like the crispness and how it looks so clean. I don't want the brightness of actual white. Right now I have a faux paint of tans in the family room, tan in the living room and a steal blue in the computer room. I want to get rid of the color on the walls and use furniture and other items for my color. |
My house is all earthy colors - and I just LOVE it. Dark tans, browns, umber-ish burnt orange (very soft), sages. There is white for trims etc. but absolutely no pastels whatsoever. Just warm, earthy colors. |
My kitchen is a soft yellow and the rest of the house is navajo white (a creamy, light color) with crisp white trim throughout. If I repainted today, I'd use the same color. |
I love color! I am going to be painting my house soon also. Gotta invest in paint first. I have an open concept townhouse. I want to paint the hallway coming in light, bright yellow, and the stairway going to the upstairs hallway, yellow also. My kitchen is a light neon green, very pretty color. I want to paint my dining/living room area a grayish green, one shade darker on the vertical walls and one shade lighter on the horizontal walls. Then I have this vision of a deep raspberry color on this tiny wall in the dining room and then painting squares in the raspberry over the couch and hanging wall hangings in them. I think it looks sooo nice with the green colors I picked. I need to paint my finished basement also. Its a nice basement but its painted this god awful blue. Its like ice blue and there is a neon light down there... makes what could be cozy just cold and stark looking. I have not decided on a color for down there yet though. IM thinking a deep purple and getting a new regular light, not fluorescent. Good Luck with your painting! Oh I painted my bedroom a deep gold color with khaki (army green) trim on all the woodwork. I would leave wood a woodcolor if it were me, but the wood in that room was already painted white. I love the combination of the colors I picked though, I just wish the room was not so dark. Remember dark colors absorb light, so if you do a darker color you'll need more lights in the room. |
I'm in a apartment and its a tan white or off white.. but whatever i dont like it.. its soooo boring... but i deal with it cause we're not allowed to change it. i've always wanted my bedroom to be a light lavendar ( i love purple) |
My bedroom is Terra Cotta1 bathroom is Chocolate other is lavender Living room is Sage Dining is Golden wheat Kitchen is Avacado and white averys room is Ocean blue with lime green large polka dots I am redoing Tannars room it is hunter green now for the packers but we are going with a Khaki color, orange and blue. spare bedroom is eggplant a deep purple. |
2 Attachment(s) i chose safe colors for my apparment im currently living in because im going to rent it out soon, so all the rooms are a differnt shade of beige. im moving in less the a month to my new place and having trouble choosing colors so far i have living room/open kitchen, the cabinets i chose a cream color (yes safe) but one wall will be ligh gray (same as laurens from the hills) . onthe oposit wall i chose this mosiak(sp?) and cream on the sides. a couch will sit in front of it (if this makes sense) all my furniture will be white so it will lighten up the room. heres a pic of it that i found (yes i know its used in the bathroom but i want to try something new:rolleyes: ) kitchen cabitnets, this is the catalogue pic but my kitchen will look similar just differnt layout the hall a cream color and the bathroom brownish tiles with silver. and mybedroom????????? no idea, i need to decide soon! the room is not that big so no dark colors |
My formal living/dining room is "Sundried Tomato" on one big wall and the rest of the room is a medium toned green (kinda reminds me of army green). May sound like a bit much but I've gotten a lot of compliments on it, love it, looks so rich! Took a lot of searching for the perfect red, didn't want any pink or purple in it and this is a beautiful red. The entry-way is a lighter color of the green in the living room, love it! Family room/kitchen is neutral light-medium neutral tan/sand color. Gotta be careful with tans, depending on how the light hits it sometimes it looks more toupey and sometimes I see some pinkishness to it (it doesn't look pink but the tone changes). I'm getting ready to pick colors for my master bedroom, I'm doing a rich dark chocolate with pale blue. Haven't figured out for sure how I'm doing the walls but in the process of figuring it out. Haven't painted the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms yet. Downstairs office/bedroom currently light gray w/dark blue accent wall. This will be changed to more neutral tan or toupe color. Kids rooms, will be repainted when they leave home:D Good luck with your color choices! |

Our painters always did a big piece of wallboard with the paint we were thinking of for each room before they actually put it on the wall. You can either do that or do a (large) test patch somewhere that it won't show....they did that in our bedroom b/c the wall finish/texture was so different than plain wallboard and we were so glad that they did, b/c the original color I chose would have been way too bright! They tested it on a large area in a niche where the TV goes (then painted over it). We also used some of the "River Rock" and Metallic paints (both Ralph Lauren) and they really looked different once they were applied, so it's a good idea to do a test of the whole process (some of them are two steps or more) to see what the finished effect will be! Good luck! |
my entire house has taupe except for my kitchen which is a muted yellow and my daughter's bedroom which is a cool lime color. Hubby's office is hunter green halfway down and the other half is taupe with a wallpapered border in a golf theme. I have always wanted to paint my rooms just never got around to doing it due to my schedule . . . |
Tan, taupe, have some wallpapered, in a tan, taupe, pale teal green. I think you could say they did the southwest colors, who ever lived here before. Except bedroom is off white w/pink flowers/ roses whatever- that has got to go soon! |
