Anyone own a Dyson? Need a review My vacumm died yesterday:( I hear good things about a Dyson. I checked on line and really like the slim model. It's perfect for what I need. I was wondering if any of you have this make and how do you like it? Thanks in advance. |
my brother and SIL just bought one and went crazy over it - they said it's the best vacuum they've ever used and it should be for what it cost :) |
I have the animal dyson...and it is...the BEST vaccuum cleaner I have ever owned. I have cats and am always amazed at the amount of dust and fur this thing picks up everytime. It also brings up the fibers of your carpets too...making them look fresh and new. Go for it....best money you will ever spend. PS I should tell you....I am NOT molly mcclean freak either...so to give a glowing review on a vaccum should really tell ya something. |
My daughter has one, she LOVES it. She has 3 kids and a dog that sheds, and her rugs always look great. When my vacumn dies I'm gonna get one! |

V, your so right. They cost quite abit however they have a 5yr warranty as opposed to all the other's who carry only a 2yr. I went to factory direct and s/h is free and the prices are alittle better. I would rather not have to do this but I need a vacumm. The last one was 20yrs old and was my MIL. Electrolux and I have to say it really lived up to it's name. I plugged it in yesterday and nothing! It was a dead as a door nail! It worked last week but I guess it went to vacumm heaven sometime during the week. Thanks everyone for your imput. |
Love it, love it, love it. I have the purple one. It's embarrassing to look at all the dirt it picks up. When you can see the dirt at least you know it's working. I hated the old vacuum with the bags that you had to change. I got mine in either BJ's or Costco. The furbutts don't like it though, maybe it watching their dirt swirl around or the sound but they run in the other room when I vacuum:rolleyes: |
I have the animal Dyson and I can honestly tell you that it IS the best vacuum I have ever owned. It picks up things that most vacuums leave behind and the suction is really powerful The only drawback that I know of is that I was told that parts are hard to come by right now and when my Brady chewed through the cord recently ( not plugged in ) we were told that we were lucky that the broken area was near the end of the cord, because another customer had been waiting many months for that exact part. |
I just bought the purple animal dyson dc-17 and we LOVE it. some of them felt really flimsy to me when we were trying to make up our mind but this one seemed very sturdy. we got home and vacuumed the house and we were AMAZED at how much it picked up. we had our carpets shampoo'd just about 3 weeks before getting it, vacuumed the day before getting it...and it still got SOOOOOO much dirt and dust out of the carpet...and off of our furniture. we absolutely love this thing. The warranty is great too. I am not sure if this is true or not, but I was told that you can take it to any vacuum repair place to have it fixed if need be....that is pretty convenient. It's funny, I went out of town yesterday (just a day trip) and was actually looking forward to coming home and vacuuming (i kinda weirded myself out because I hate to clean) but I got home and DH had vacuumed the entire house!!!!! I was shocked...and a little disappointed that I didn't get to do it LOL so yes...it's great :D I say go for it!!!! |
We have the animal dyson. We just got ours in May. I seem to go through a vacuum within 10 months to 1 year. So I am hoping to fair better w/this one. But thus far it has been awesome. I would give it:thumbup:   !!!:D |
Don't own one but my little furbaby loves the squeeky commercials!!! |
I have had the animal dyson now for nearly 6 years, its great! |
I have a German Shepherd and 2 yorkie puppies that love to shred paper, I LOVE my Dyson. Like someone else said I used to go thru a vacuum every year but I have had my Dyson for 2 and it still works great! I say go for it. |
Carol, I have the Animal DC-07 that I got as a special promotion at Home Depot in '04. It had ever attachment included and I love it!!! I would certainly recommend it. |

1 Attachment(s) Yes, they are a bit pricey, you can get them online on www.lnt.com and apply a 20% discount and get free shipping, so it only costs around 400$. Or go in store and still get 20% off. http://www.lnt.com/product/index.jsp...entPage=search Best money we ever spent. I also was going through 1 a year! (Other brands) and when we had an Oreck (which was really nice also, it was good because it was light.) we had to have it tuned up 2-3 times a year for about $50 each time. and deal with the bags and dust. So you do the math. We have the purple Dyson also. A++++ highly recommended! |
My daughter has had a dyson for several years and she loves it. She just got the slimline one and she thinks it is fabulous too. Oh, she got the second one, not because the first one died, but to have one upstairs and one down stairs. She says the slimline is just as good as her other one and will go into smaller places. She also got the motorized attachments so that she can vacuum the stairs better. |
Oh geez I really want one....but, am trying to find the most ecconomical way to purchase it.......tried looking on Ebay....at Sams, Linens and things.....Bed Bath, Circuit City.....but have not bought it yet.... 'Was wondering about the slimline...it is cool how it turns and gets under things.....but appears a little flimsy......anyone know how durable the slim is????? Any suggestions for saving money one one would be most appreciated.....LOL:thumbup: |
I've always wanted one. They are just a lot!!! I ended up buying a nice Rug Cleaner. |
I have a Dyson and we love it. I have 4 children and a yorkie so it gets lots of use. I purchased mine 3 years ago at Costco. Costco had it at a great price & with the great 'costco' return policy. ***I actually bought my first dyson and had it for a year, then returned it...for the new model. |
Thank you all so very much. Well, I ordered it from Dyson factory direct. I deceided on the DC 18. The slim model. Looks exactally what I need and dosen'ts take up much room to store. Living in a condo every inch counts. Can't wait to vacumm. Thought about the animal model but Buddy does not shed so I really didn't need the extra attachments to store. Want an answer just ask YT:thumbup: You guys are the best! |
