well, i guess so. but, thats their way of thinking with it. i don't have to agree with them. that is a good way of thinking of it, though. so thaks you gave me something to think about today. :) hmmmm, its just like everything else i guess, everyone has different oppinions. i hope i didn't offend anyone with my earlier posts, and if i did i'm sorry. :)

I guess I should explain why I feel it is offensive. Due to religion, I have unofficially been "disowned" by my parents and have not talked to them in over three years. So needless to say, religion leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

Don't be silly! How were you to know? I'm not offended by your post, just kinda offended by organized religion overall.

It's hard when you don't hear from your parents in aaages. They're the ones that made the choice to cut me off. I guess this could be a blessing for some people! :)

thanks for not being bad. i felt really bad afterword! i'm sure it is hard not hearing from your parents. i couldn't imagine not talking to mine!!

To tell you honestly, I probably miss Rochester (our Yorkie when I was growing up there) more than anything! He lives with my parents. I hear tidbits about him through my aunts. He's SUPER old now, and toothless. I think he forgot about me. :(

And don't feel bad! It's not your fault my parents are idiots! :cool:

It's not so much that the content was horribly offensive, but the title of the thread was a bit misleading. Some people may not have clicked had they known it was a poem about Jesus.

While we understand prayers and best wishes, YorkieTalk is not a religion forum and this is not the place to promote any religions or political views. So please title your threads appropriately (we added the (Jesus Poem) part of the thread title after it was posted for a while). If it gets out of hand, we will start deleting religious posts.

Let's just stick to Yorkies! That's why everyone is here!

I read this post yesterday & was bothered most of the day. Not from the poem - but hearing how some had been hurt by "religion" & so turned off. I think so many people are hurt & judged from "so called Christians" - which is so OPPOSITE of Christ's example. That is what saddens me!

I try not to chime in on controversial topics but this has also been bothering me. If you aren't a Christian and are bothered by religion, don't read this thread. Here is some food for thought. If I believe and I am wrong, what have I lost? If I don't believe and I am wrong then I have lost! I will never deny my Lord.

Well meaning Christians have often driven more people away from the cross then they bring to the cross. Most of the time it is because of narrowmindedness and selfrighteousness, an attitude so contrary to the teachings of Jesus that people don't want to have anything to do with 'religion'. Religion is MAN made, faith is GOD made, love is GOD made - whoever your personal God is, whoever you cry out to in times of trouble. There are good people out there, please don't confuse your faith with your religion or other peoples faith with their religion! Love your God and love each other, it's as simple and as complicated as that!
