Cat lovers...the ULTIMATE cat...go look~! All I can think to say is.....WOW!! For more reasons than one! :D http://www.lifestylepets.com/cats.html |
ugh...that's crazy :thumbdown I doubt it is even legal to own one in some places. Why would you want a 30lb cat! No way... It says their temperament is good but I'd be wary of buying a cat that is descended so closely from wild cats. It kind of reminds me of the Bengal breed...I'd buy one of those before the Ashera. Well, I woudn't buy either as I love Persian cats..they'll always be my breed of cat. I don't think this site is really that legit anyway...just a money making hype. Did you see their hypoallergenic dog that they are developing for only $15,000 a pup?!?http://www.lifestylepets.com/dogs.html |
It truly is a legitimate site. I heard about it on the radio and just wanted to share it because it is so darned odd. A $22,000.00 cat? To me, it's absurd. Actually, you couldn't PAY ME to own one, but they have sold quite a few. |

i think the cat is beautiful but there's no way in hell i'd pay that amount for any animal. i can buy i car for that price! LOL I do want a savannah cat tho. They are gorgeous. i like that they are big, long, and lanky. very pretty |
If you look in the gallery..there are some pictues of a girl walking on a leash. All I can say is...I would PEE my PANTS if I saw some girl walking a 30 lb cat on a leash! |
doesn't seem very secure to walk a cat on a collar and leash. Most people that walk their cats use a figure-8 harness and leash. Cats could easily slip out of a collar..and probably most harnesses if they tried hard enough |

I would NEVER pay that much for a cat but I do think that one is beautiful. I would be afraid it would come after me in my sleep though. |

I did a search for the dog -- and it came up with a site that said this company was "genetically engineering" the cat and dog... so -- are these test tube babies? |
Quote:
I won't even eat the food that they have now that is genetically engineered. |
Quote:
But also...in their 'engineering' process, who knows what important stuff might have been left out. After all....man does not know everything although they tend to want to play around with everything like they do.:( |

only 15K for the puppy~! |

Also I don't want to think about all the miscarriages and stillborns that happened before they were "successful." :( |

Wow! The solution to our dreams. Ginger's allergic to her brother the kitty!!!! Now if I could just get everyone to donate a mere $1500 to the cause... Oh, ummm they just said something on tv about cloned milk??? (JK....this is NOT a serious solicitation...please do not boot me from yt:D ) |

On the down side however, that first cross between the domestic and the Serval is much more difficult to make. There are several major hurtles to overcome in producing first generation Savannah kittens. First and foremost is finding a Serval male which is interested in breeding domestic females. Most have no interest at all and can not be safely paired with domestic cats. Secondly, most of the Servals that will breed domestics, will only breed one or two specific females and usually only those with which it was reared with (imprinted on) as a kitten. Then lastly, most domestic females seem to have an immunity response to the developing kittens and either reabsorb the kittens or abort the litter a few weeks prior to the expected delivery date. These factors all conspire to greatly limit the availability of first generation Savannah kittens This is from www.deerfernfarms.com who breed Savannahs. |
OMG!!!! I just cannot get OVER the PRICES of these animals!! Totally and completely UNREAL! |
I would love to have a couple of them but then again I love cats! I could and would not pay that much money. But if someone gave them to me I would definately take them. I love big cats. There is family in my town that has mountain lions and tigers. They have special enclosures and a permit to keep them. I saw them at a little store one day with a cougar in their car. He held its head away from me and let me pet it. I would love to work at a zoo. |
when i worked at the zoo we had two servals that were "tame". they would walk on leashes and play with the keepers. They were raised by the keepers since they were only a few days old. I loved playing with them. So much fun. |
