Favorite Vacation?
 

Just wondering, what is everyone's favorite vacation that they have taken? Thought it would be fun to post a couple of pictures from our favorite place, might give all of us some vacation ideas!:)

For me, I love someplace warm, and it has to have a beautiful beach. I think my favorite vacation was a trip to St. Barts about four years ago. Here are a couple of pics....

#1- View of the harbor
#2- The island's runway ends on a popular beach. You can stand on the beach, and it feels like the airplanes are flying right at you!
#3- Nikki Beach restaurant, the have beds on the beach, very cool!
#4- Me and hubby on a hike that ended at a beautiful beach.

Probably my fave was the Big Island of Hawaii - I don't have pics handy at the moment - but it was great!

You live on St. John though - so isn't that practically "perma-vacation"? How are you so lucky to live there and WHEN should I move in? :D

We went to Cancun on our honeymoon. It was a lot of fun. Her are some picture. The second of my husband is my favorite.

I have several favorite vacation places. I love Disney World. I also love Dewey and Rehoboth Beaches in Delaware.

But my overall FAVORITE vacation has been to Curacao. There was just so much to do, especially involving the water. At our hotel you could just go down to the beach, swim ten feet, and see many different types of fish. Also the food was so good. Overall, it was amazing and I would love to go back!

My favorite vacation place is NOT Hawaii - I like it - but not my favorite. I was there over Thanksgiving this year and here are some pix

I think mine is Acapulco Mexico, I've been to jamaica, cancun isla mujeres, cozumel but there is jsut something special to my hubby and i about acapulco

pic #2 is the "taxi" my friend and I called to get home from thanksgiving dinner. When the limo pulled up we said that we didn't order a limo and the hotel guy said that it was OK, it was the same price as regular taxi. So when we got to our hotel, we asked the limo driver to take our picture - how big a dorks were we!

HAWAII!!! The only other place that could top that would be a vacation to Austrailia. Maybe someday!! For now, Hawaii and Sedona are my all time favorite places and I was blessed to be able to grow up in Sedona.

Actually, my favorite vacation spot is ALASKA! WOW! that is one fantastic place! Here are a few pix from our trip last summer

Alaska is just the most fantastic place. If you ever get a chance to go - don't pass it up!

Can't post pictures, I'm at work but hands down it was ITALY.
So much beauty and history. It's just amazing to see.

:D :D :D , it is beautiful here, but there's nothing like getting away and going someplace new and different! I haven't been to Hawaii, I hope to go someday. I hope you post some of your pics!:)

Haha, you are so sweet! I haven't taken any recently, I promise to do better! :) By the way, I don't feel too bad for you, living in sunny Florida!! :D

The Maldives
 

My husband and I surf and dive so we love to go to exotic places for both. My two favorites so far are Fiji and the Maldives. I was just looking at our Maldive pictures and we have very few of us standing around as we were in the water one way or another except to eat or sleep! Anyway, here are a few of our underwater sharks. The Mantaray was actually as massive as it looks in the pictures.

I'd have to say Disney World. :) There is just so much to do and see there.

My favorite vacation spot right now is anywhere that Disney Cruise Line is going. This is the greatest place for families. The kids get to do there thing and DH and I get to have some adult time. Most importantly, I don't have to cook or clean anything for the whole trip!! :D

Cruise is also the best trip I went on too but we went on Royal Carribbean. I went on my first cruise just last week and it was the best. I recommend a cruise to anyone who hasn't been. I can't wait to go to Disney one day. It seems like so much fun and the ship is real cute.

I have gone to Hawaii once and it was beautiful but my favorite place to go is Angel Fire, New Mexico in August. The weather is beautiful and cool while Texas is sweltering in the heat:D

OH YES! I completely agree Patty - anywhere in the mountains of New Mexico in the HOT Texas summers is da BOMB! :D

where do you go?

We actually travel all over New Mexico - have for many many years.

Our favorite place is between Chama NM and Antonito Colorado. We camp in an RV park, the Ponderosa, on the Conejos river. http://coloradodirectory.com/ponderosacampcabins/ It is pure heaven. It's usually in the high 30's in the morning (yes, in the summer) and 70's in the afternoon. I have some pix on my other computer, if I can, I'll get on and post them.

The altitude (8500 ft) is really too much for my husband now that he has heart failure - so we shouldn't go there. So, last summer we went to Alamagordo, NM which is near Ruidoso in southern NM. We stayed in Alamagordo since it is only 4500 ft high. We'd go up to Ruidoso and Cloud Croft (8000 ft) during the day.

We actually love all of NM. The good buys on Indian jewelry and stone polished pottery (both of which I have GOBS) are in Gallup. You can also go directly to the pueblos in NM and buy directly from the Indian artists. We love to go into their homes/workshops and talk with them about their artwork. Santo Domingo Pueblo is known for jewelry. San Ildefonso is famous for stone polished pottery. My favorite pottery is from the Santa Clara Pueblo. The Acoma Pueblo is the most stunningly beautiful!

I love Santa Fe, but the prices are WAY too high. I like Taos (high priced too) and Albuquerque too.

The Indian ruins and cliff dwellings in Chaco canyon and Bandelier and other places in NM are amazing too.

It is by far one of our most favorite vacation spots!

Oh my gosh those pictures are beautiful. We will have to try that. We took our granddaughter to Cloud Croft and Alamagorda year before last. We go to Taos quite often. We came down thru Chamos on the way home from a trip to Colorado a couple of years ago. We have also been to the cliff dwellings and Riodoso. We have never been to the Albuquirque area or eastern New Mexico though. We didn't go this August because of my respiratory arrest during my recent surgery but I sure plan on going next year. Maybe we can meet up somewhere. Have you ever been to the Red River area?
