So mad @ SPRINT!!!!!! So our new bill is ready and I'm checking it out when I realize that they have charged my husbands phone account 71 text messages which he rarely uses, making for a charge of $14.20(.20 a piece). So I call customer service and they insist that he made that many and I'm like he does not use that thing unless I send him 1 which is rare 'cause I rather call than text. And then she says people habits change and how would u know he didn't make all those text messages. I"m like he's my husband and I know what he does. So she says its on the computer that he made them and that there's nothing she can do so I have to pay. And like no I will not pay I rather change carrier than pay for something we didn't use. Then she says but u r still under contract and I tell her I don't care I'll leave u with the bill and I will not pay it. So she transfers me to this other representative that says the same B.S. So I ask to speak to a manager or someone above her and u know what she did she hung up on me. I am so mad:mad: I can spit fire I've I were able to. I'm gonna go to a store after work and they are going to hear me. I will keep u guys posted on what happens. Thanks needed to vent and this is the first time I do this and it feels good.:p |
I am sorry! Good luck dealing with them. We had basically the same thing happen with Verizon (on more than one occasion) - only we pay whatever it is to have unlimited txt msging and they were still trying to charge us per msg. They FINALLY admitted they goofed up and credited our account but it took a lot of screaming and raising h*ll on my part to get them to do it. |
i feel you i have sprint too:rolleyes: and im thinking about switching too :D they are so expensive  |

I heard on the news the other day that Sprint is voted WORST for customer service.. I have them too. I'm surprised it wasn't .30 cents a text mine are. I'd ask what number those texts came or went to.. at least you'd know the number ..or not. |

Double check and make sure that they do not count a recieved text the same as a sent one. Some companies do. We just had to suck it up and get unlimited texting. It's cheaper than going over. |
Sprint is the WORST! My old company had Sprint and all we ever had was problems. My boyfriend has Sprint for his kids, and after 2 weeks of having the phones, they shut them off because they went over the limit of the down payment, so he had to pay an additional $200 to keep the phones on. He had asked the phones to be blocked from internet and all the other stuff, and they didn't block it, so the kids were able to use it and ran the bill out of control. Then, since the phones were shut off, he wasn't able to get the rebates on the actual phones. So he lost $250 on that. Its a mess, and I don't recomend Sprint AT ALL!! |
I hate Sprint!!! They billed me for 3 months of service and I never signed up with them. I dont know how they did this. I called and explained over and over that I never signed up with them(already have Quest)but they turned me over to collections anyway. |
I'm sorry you are having so much trouble. I have Sprint service & I love it. Except I hate the service at the local store - horrid, but I rarely ever go there. Hopefully you can find a helpful individual. |
It must be the season or something, I just had it out with Alltel. Every time you call and get a different person, you get a completely different answer. Sad thing is, we switched from Sprint to Alltel, so now what? I am sorry you are dealing with it too! The thing I can't stand is their "we're right and you can't do anything about it attitude". Good luck with your situation. |

well this is a touchy subject and i hope i don't offend...... Yes phone companies do make mistakes and it does happen but the chances are very slim, It might be that your hubby is texting and maybe doesn't want you to know? Maybe planning a surprise or something? If he deleted them off the phone you will not get an answer, But all phone companies have to keep a record of the phone #'s so if they say they can't provide the # or the message there is something wrong. I would talk with hubby and explain that you are going down there to raise a commotion and if he did it he better come clean so your not embarressed. Also i would talk to a manager and ask them to prove to you there were texts that you want to phyiscally see it on the screen or in a print out. Also that you want #'s.If they won't provide it ask for the district managers # or the corp #.. Is the phone service in his name or yours? Because if it is in his name they may not give you the info because he is the primary holder on the account. |
sprint  the only reason i still have my service is because my work offers a 23% discount....HOWEVER my fiancés account is always getting messed around with... first time, they changed his plan without him requesting it and he only noticed because the bill doubled   he NEVER authorized a change ... this took about 4 calls to get "fixed" next time, they never credited the money they charged for the first boo boo above...this took another 2 calls most recent, they shipped him THREE BRAND NEW PHONES...he was like wth!?!?!?!? so he calls and THEY ADDED ON TWO MORE PHONES TO HIS ACCOUNT  ... finally a nicer CS rep said that someone was probably trying to "pad" their monthly sales and just added these new lines on to his account...they said they would fix his account (credit the money they charged for the extra lines) when he sent the phones back....we were like NO you WILL CREDIT US NOW and send us a prepaid label to send the phones back!!! ... this fiasco took us two days worth of calls...we lost track of the number of people we talked to sprint!!! |
wow..i'm glad i don't have sprint!! |
seems customer service for cell phone companies is at an all time low. The whole economy is so bad that they will do what it takes to not 'lose' money, even if the money is not THEIRS in the first place. I had to ask to speak to a manager for american express last night regarding 3 $15 late charges they charged me when I have a balance on the card of under $100 and I pay more than the minimum every month. I should get a $0 bill the following month if the minimum is $15 and I pay $50. GGGRRR The manager refunded me 2 late fees. I should have called earlier so I understand, but how retarded are they? I told him I was paying it off and cancelling it, thats when they refunded me. Cell phone companies are the WORST! Tmobile was pretty good, if they have that in your area. I had that YEARS ago though, so they might be bad like the rest of them now... I just remember their customer service being heads above the rest of those companies! |
I had problems with sprint 6 years ago ,they said we were making phone calls and our bill was 300.00 i called and complained and they said we would have to pay it i got the run around also ,i told them to cancell my contract they said it would cost money to break my contract i told them oh well well i let the bill sit for 6 years threw out the years they would send me bills to settle for this amount and this amount i kept ignoring them finally last year they sent me one for 127.00 i took them up on it and put paid in full on my check ,so never got the 300.00 plus the 200.00 for breaking the contract they only got 127.00 from me . |
I had a similar problem with my new AT&T phone. Seems I can access the internet, but I did not know that, nor did I want to do that. But when I was playing around with the phone and getting familiar with it, seems I hit the wrong buttons a few times. I called about it and they immediately took the charges off and turned those features off the phone because I said I would never use them. Try to get to the right person. It all depends on whom you speak to. They should delete the charges as a courtesy. Oh, and be careful, if you have automatic payments they can simply charge your credit card. The fact the service rep hung up on you is inexcusable and since we know they record all calls, you definitely should mention it. Good Luck! |
Hmmmmm We have sprint too and noticed the same thing on our bill. Its wasn't 71 text messages, but it was like 20 text messages (which is about double or more our normal) + some data transfer or some crap that we never do and would have no reason to do. I've been meaning to go over it with our phones in hand to try to catch Sprint in a lie but now I'm definatley going to since I don't seem to be the only one. Also gotta love how text messages were 10 cents when we signed up, 15 cents a month or two later and now its 20cents?!?! Give me a break. :thumbdown |
any news on this? |
We have Sprint, and I've been overall very pleased with them in the last 7 years. They have always taken care of us when I've requested upgrades or other services. Our last bill was funky... $130 in extra charges for use of internet services. Hubby and I recently upgraded phones but did not rack up these charges. The only time I even use internet on my phone is to view a pic message; my highest bill for doing that was an extra $7. I e-mailed customer service and told them that I was very upset about the charges, not understanding WHERE they could have come from. Keep in mind that $33 of it was on hubby's line and the rest on my line so I know there was an error. We also were incorrectly charged an upgrade fee that was supposed to be a free offer. The associate took off all the extra charges. I then requested a block put on both lines since we couldn't track what caused the issue, and he handled it immediately. I was extremely pleased with the result. I hope you can solve your issues with as much satisfaction. |

Someone must have stolen your credit somehow. Not sure how it works, maybe someone finds out your ss # and then cell phone company never verifies it actually matches the name?? Anyway, you should be able to check your credit report and if its on there you can dispute it and then hopefully collections will leave you alone. |
