and i was home to Louisiana this weekend,, hoping to cut me some fresh okra,, but nope,, mine all died,, lack of rain,,,,

Well, I have tried it many ways and still don't think much of it. Didn't grow up eating it, so didn't develop a taste for it, I guess. I can handle it battered and fried, but can't manage it boiled. Ugh!

My friend brought me fresh cut okra from his garden today. I cut it up, pan fried it with a little butter and olive oil until cruncy, YUMMIE, Tricksie loved it too.

Hate to say it ladies but I might be Okra'd out for a week or two. Love to see the season come...guess I over did it. May need OA

That is the way I have had okra and I LOVE it cooked that way.

Watermelons are still making,, peas may make more after all the rain they got today,, but okra is dead dead dead!!! AARrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol

I love gumbo too. Last night I fixed it with crushed tomato's, sooo good.
My DH could not get enough. Maybe more to night or fried.

Ok all you okra lovers.
I have found the ultimate Okra treat!!

Vacuum fried okra ...yep the entire pod becomes crisp like a potato chip

OMG it is heaven in two bites!!!
see pic below.

for those of you who live on the eastern side of the US you may have a Fresh Market grocery in your area!! If not you can order online.
but warning you have to order a pound which is 10 bucks and it will take you forever to eat a pound!! I buy a quart sized container for 2 bucks at the store. The Fresh Market - Detail

There is a store in south tampa on hernderson close to dale mabry and another one on dale mabry and fletcher.
