I'm hooked! I've used it twice now...last night and this morning. I'm hooked, immediatly I could see a difference in my skin. It really seemed to open up my pores and brought all dirt and grime to the surface. It left my skin feeling smooth too. Now I just need to find a bottle or something to store the oil in...right now it's in a plastic cup setting a ziploc baggie!:D |
VERY interesting!! This is very ayurvedic in theory, ya know - cool. |

I'm gonna have to try this!!!! I have some breakouts, stupid blackheads on my t-zone, and WRINKLE TOO:mad: NO FAIR:laugh: I can't wait to hear everyone else's experiences as well. I'm so tired of spending mega bucks on fancy cleansers, trying to treat the clogged pores AND wrinkles, nothing works |
Well guys? Has anyone else tried this yet? Ive been going at it for about a week now and I still love it! My skin seems much nicer than before and it's not as oily as it used to be! So far so good! |
This sounds very interesting.....I'll stick anything on my face it it helps..... Do you do this every night? |

I don't do that exact method, but I use MAC cleansing oil then follow with Aveeno Ultra Calm cleanser. I feel like the oil really helps to get makeup and sunscreen off. I use a long wear foundation and sunscreen, and those are so hard to get off with regular cleanser. |
I haven't tried it yet Larissa, but----I am completely hooked on that site/community now and started using the no-poo method last Wed. I haven't gotten out to pick up the CLO yet (been carless:( ) but as soon as I can get out, I'm trying OCM. |
I am guilty....I ran out of time this weekend and did not get any of the things to try it but you guys all trying it with your good stories are making me wish I had just made the time. :D I need to do it for sure this coming weekend. |

Olive Oil well that is a new one that I haven't heard of for your skin. Might be worth trying out. I like to tan but those beds can really dry your skin out. I'm sure it might be good for the face. |

BUT--I have been using sulfate shampoo & conditioners for about 10 months so I think that makes a diff in the transition. |
any new updates on how this works? |
what do you use on your hair? has anyone else tried it? |

I've been doing it and it leaves my skin really soft. |
OKAY so I finally made it to the store this weekend and bought the castor oil. I have been doing this for two nights now and I have to say I am surprised at how tight and clean it leaves my face feeling. I have yet to do it in the morning as I sort of have a weird feeling about slathering oil on my face before makeup and work. I have just been using a mild Neutrogena in the shower in the morning. I can feel a difference in my skin for sure but I was wondering for those of you who have been doing it for a while now have you noticed a difference in less acne yet? |
i went and bought the stuff today... i think ill give it a try.... i have sensetive skin and any time i use acne products for more than two days in a row my skin gets irritated and red... so hopefully this will work a little better do any of the original users have updates on how its working? |

I'm on my 3rd or 4th week right now..I can't remember! hahha My skin was doing great for a while..this week has sucked. I think it's a combination of it being the week before my period and sleeping in makeup a couple of nights (oops!) ..they said it would take 3-4 weeks to notice any difference, so those of yall that have just started..stick with it for a while and you might notice some more improvements. I'm still sticking with it as my breakouts are starting to go down now. I have been putting tea tree oil on them which has helped A LOT! Burts Bees has this blemish stick which is made mostly of tea tree oil..I highly recommend it! |
what an interesting concept..never heard of using oil to combat oil....I know someone who has a small bottle of EVVO next to her bed and she massage it into her hands every night before bed and she has beautiful hands and her nails look fabulous. Would love to hear about the results in a month or 2 of using. Thanks for posting! |
I finally bought the castor oil today, I kept forgetting:o I always have EVOO in the house. Tonight will be my first time:eek: I have weird skin. Large pores AND wrinkles:mad: I don't break out regularly, but i do have a black/whitehead problem on my nose and chin, and like I said wrinkles too:p A few weeks ago, I got a huge zit right INSIDE one of the frown lines between my eyebrows:mad: NO FAIR! So anyway, hopefully this will help with my skin. I hope. |
Just an update. My skin has NEVER looked better (okay maybe when I was a kid:p!) My pores appear smaller, the fine lines less noticeable and I have a GLOW! It's not oily at all, and usually by the end of the day I'm a greasepit:rolleyes: but now it's an actual glow instead of the oil shine. My hubby even noticed and he doesn't notice when I change my hair style or color:laugh: My daughter is using it too (she's 12) and her breakouts are much much less already. I hope and pray that this will help her skin clear up totally, as it really messes with her self-esteem:( There is improvement after only about a week or so, so there IS hope:thumbup: BLESS you for posting this, gutu;) |

I finally have the stuff. I think I may try it, but I'm so scared it may make me break out more. I have a concert to go to next week and I don't want to be more broken out then usual for it. So maybe i'll wait til after that to try it. I'm going to see my bf in late march and it would be awesome if my skin was clear by then. |
I had never heard of this until this thread. So I've been trying it too! I am using coconut oil instead of EVOO. We use coconut oil for everything. (Our groomer even uses it in Reggie's ears - it has antibacterial properties). I thought about trying the EVOO tho too. What is it that some people "can't handle"? It has definitely made my skin softer (to combat the other products that I use!) but does NOT make it greasy or oily at all. I use about 65-75% castor oil and the rest coconut oil. And it does seem to be helping with any breakouts too, but it could be too early to tell that. This is another of the things I love about YT - the off topic ideas!! |
I am going to look into this...because right now my daughter and I are both on antibiotics for acne...and I just don't like the idea of being on them for a long period of time......... |
