It also came with a free bag to put it in if you're traveling and it's still warm or you can use it as a mat to set it on while you're using it. My hair used to be almost to my butt and it's what I used and now my hairs to right under my chin and I still use it. It makes my hair feel so soft and I don't even use a heat product or anything. I really recommend it.

Free shipping and read the great reviews compared to the Chi's reviews:

and fire hazards? Ew.

My dtr wanted a Pink Chi (of course) for xmas but that didn't happen. Luckily, KMart had the ConAir Infinity and it works miracles. It's a ceramic with many degree choices. Thank goodness I have a discount card there:D .

Thanks!!!! Did you get the 1 1/2 inch one? The one labeled best seller?

MeganS 12-31-2007 08:52 AM

oh Yes, about the Chi. I was over my best friend's house, and she uses a Chi, her hair is beautiful, but the thing is not helping it. She doesn't have hair that is too thick or long or anything, but it takes her half an hour to straighten her hair effectively. and also I was over there one morning, and while she was straightening her hair, the cord sparked and ruined the outlet. =/

People have to use heat protectant spray/flatiron spray on their hair before flatironing. On every section. Its ESSENTIAL to not drying out your hair!

There is a proper method to use when flatironing.....

CocosMom 12-31-2007 10:10 AM

I just bought my daughter a CHI, also. It is AWESOME!!! It is two hundred, but I got it on Ebay brand new for 80 and like 7 in shipping. Big difference. I use it to, it makes your hair like silk!!! :p :D

Not necessarily, I've never used it and my hair is in decent shape. However, at school I always use it on clients and friends but it's really not for me, it just makes my hair look gross.

I think that's how big mine is, I'm not sure. Mine may be 1 inch, it was like $100 something whenever we got it but that was like a year ago. My mom wishes she had a bigger one because her hairs so long but whenever my hair was longer it was like I had more control with the smaller one.

browniesmom622 12-31-2007 10:20 AM

Which ever straightener you get make sure its ceramic !!
i have a REVLON Ceramic Straightener had it for 2 years & love it... it was pretty cheap too it works REALLLLLY Well i have a friend that comes over all the time to get her hair done because she has a frizz ball head and her hair is shiny and smooth after

Right, but for most people, yes you have to use it.

I use the Sedu 1" Pro. It's $120 on Folica.com, and it's amazing. Way better than my old CHI.

My neice got a new one for xmas, I don't know the brand or how good it is, but it was bought at Sally's Beauty Supply and came with a holder which I thought was cool, cuz I never know where to put mine when its hot. I'd love a holder. It had a suction cup to stick it to your wall.

So whats the BEST straightner out there for long hair???

Here is the link to the one I'm currently using:

I didn't read this entire thread, but I wanted to tell you what I use. It's a Conair blow dryer with a straightening attachment. It is AWESOME!! I didn't know if I wanted to spend over $65 for a blow dryer, but let me tell you, it is the best purchase I have ever made for my hair. My sister is a cosmetologist and thinks it's the best straightening tool she has ever used. I bought mine at Target. http://www.conair-store.com/product_...N+208&HDR=HAIR

Chi is top of the line. I have one--works great.

Breny 01-01-2008 07:37 PM

Well after comparing everything, the sedu has really got me interested. Anyone else have one????

MyFairLacy 01-01-2008 07:41 PM

I just got a Power GQ from Sally's Beauty Supply. It works just as well as a Chi and was only $50. It gets up to 430 degrees. The girl working at the store said Chis are more expensive because you're paying for the name...but there are cheaper ones that do work just as well.

cindy0721 01-01-2008 08:32 PM

I use a CHI Flat Iron and would recommend that pne too...

Which is exactly right. It proves it even more when you see fire hazards coming up with them and people still buying them.. durdadur.

Anyway, Breny, here's my hair when it was longer and I still used my Sedu on it. Then, one of my hair that's gone and I still use it.

I wish I had a before and after but I don't :(

My daughter and I have been using the same Chi since 2001..that's a long time for a hair appliance especially with double the use. A Chi seals the cuticle. With the horses behind hair that we have, the humidity here in Texas wreaks havoc and undoes anything the other appliances do. With the Chi the sealed hair stays smooth even in the humidity. Bottom line, your hair keeps the "just done: look untill you wash it again. I by no means had the money to buy one myself, it was a gift. My opinion is your paying for more than just a name.

I have the Sedu and I really love it:thumbup:  you can ask Yorkidaze how curly my hear is, the last time I just show up at the doggy-playdate monthly meet-up with my natural curly hair the girls thought that I just had a perm  :D he,he.

DENISE517 01-02-2008 01:55 PM

We love the Paul Mitchell Flat Iron. Our hair dresser got it for me at her cost (so she said) lol it was $120.00 it is awesome. Doesnt dry the hair out as bad as some of them do. You have to be careful. She said the ones at Sallys say its ceramic, but they are truely the real ceramic and its bad for your hair.

We've had it over a year. my daughter uses it daily!!!

mechchic3 01-02-2008 02:38 PM

I have the sedu and it works great.Just pass it through once and your good.

MyFairLacy 01-02-2008 07:53 PM

Breny 01-04-2008 10:45 AM

To get a CHI or any other PROFESSIONAL flat iron, you should get it from your hair salon. Sally's does not carry professional grade products. Support your small local businesses!!!!

Sally's doesn't carry the name brand flat irons, you'll most likely get it the cheapest on Folica.com or if you can't order online then get one from a salon in your town.

Breny 01-04-2008 06:09 PM

I thought someone had posted they got their CHI at Sallys. Well I'm going to order mine online and skip the middle man (my hair stylist). I'd rather it come straight to me and not worry about them.

Thanks everyone!!! I'm leaning towards the sedu at this point :)

No, Sally's had this promotion going on for Christmas of a flat iron that was the generic brand of the CHI. I think someone on here mentioned they got one of those. Folica also usually has a free gift when you order so much and the flat irons usually fall under that category.
