Please keep my mom in your daily prayers today. She's been in ICU and having some problems and yesterday had one of her black outs when the docs were with her. So at least one mystery solved!! She's getting a shiny new pacemaker today. I'm on my way to the hospital in her town (and with bad weather this morning too!) Please keep positive thoughts for her and all those who are having surgery today.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers today. I do not know of a more powerful group of people. My mom must have felt it, because I've never seen her more at peace and trusting. We had a wonderful visit waiting those horribly l-o-n-g hours before any procedure. It went a little long but went very well. She has pulmonary health issues, so her lungs are still not in good shape, but the pneumonia is better and now her heart will begin pumping oxygen correctly. Hopefully, this will buy her some time and make her feel better in general. She looked very good after the procedure too. I read all the literature and told her that she now has a free pass through airport gates but shouldn't hang around the anti-theft gates at the stores (she is actually housebound and doesn't get out at all). I also told her that leaning over a running engine also monkeys with the pacemaker frequency, so no more working on the family car!! ;) She had her sense of humor, so all is well for now. The next few days will tell if she is able to come home. She and my dad live together. She can't walk and Dad is blind. They are quite the pair!!! :D

I told her that, on my way out the door this morning, I just wanted someone to help me ask God to look after her and her doctors. YT popped into my mind. I don't think a call to church could put together a more spiritual group of people. And my mom is an animal lover too and knows that pet-lovers are the best of good people.

And I only saw one car in the ditch and gave them quick prayers as well. There were already people there helping them.

Thank you again. You are all so kind and asking for help from people who truly care for other people, even those they've never met, is a great experience personally as well.

If anyone or their loved ones need a pacemaker, my first experience would say to go for it with no reservations. In fact, I told my mom that the literature made it sound so great that I think I should just go ahead and get one now. ;)
