| Sidekick question We get new phones after the first of the year. YAY! I have decided to get this one: http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/...c-c627909eb4d8 I was just wondering if anyone else has a sidekick (I know one member does but I can't for the life of me remember WHO). I was reading about all the other stuff it does (the email, txting, etc), but I was wondering how good it works as a PHONE. There isn't a whole lot of info about that part of it.

| i don't have the LX, but i did have the sidekick 3 and i did love it it was a good phone but at the time i didn't have the best reception with t-mobile and so i left for verizon, but im thinking when my contract is over with verizon i will surely switch back, because a lot of my friends have the sidekick and they love it and are making me want it again lol.. it had a lot of neat features on it, but as a phone itself it was a good decent one |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | My sister has the Sidekick 3. She likes it because of the texting. But she has been having a lot of problems with the phone lately. I was reading some stuff on the web and a lot of people that have sidekicks were complaining so I don't think it's an isolated situation. Not sure how good your service is with Tmobile where you live so you might not have any problems. Personally I had a total of five lines with Tmobile (two belong to my sisters and the others were hubbys, mines and my daughters) and I am getting rid of them. My sisters will stay with theirs until their contract is up. My daughter's was up so I cancelled it and I just paid the $400 to terminate mine and hubby's contract. The service has been horrible the last few months here in NY. I can't tell you how many times I have called and complained about not getting service, dropped service. I just switched to verizon and I got the voyager...love love that phone. Check it out before you renew with Tmobile. I love the phone. By the way I had the DASH and hubby had the Wing with Tmobile. So it really sucked to have recently gotten new high end phones that we paid full price for and lost out on that and have had to pay the cancellation fees. That is to tell you how crappy their service had been for us the last few months. Good luck. My sister loves her SK because of it's capabilities but I find it too big for me personally. I personally find it a bit too expensive service wise because you have to pay for a minutes plan and pay the additional $29.99 per month for the SK Plan to have full usage of it.

I don't regret changing to Verizon. I had sprint once upon a time but I find their taxes rediculous. If I were you I would sell it on Ebay. I usually start my bids at $1 and then also put a reserve on it so it doens't sell for a dirt cheap price. I am wary of the whole craigs list thing and meeting strangers for a sale. I find it a big dicey. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I have a Sidekick 3 and I do love it, BUT - as a PHONE it drives me crazy It just bugs me that when I am ON the phone I can't press buttons if I need to because the phone has to be CLOSED SHUT in order for you to use it and put it up to your ear. For example, alot of times I will call and check my bank account over the phone (it is automated) and you have to key in numbers (checking acc. #, PIN #, etc.) - well, I always have to move the phone away from my ear to be able to see what I'm typing since the keys on this phone are different (a full KWERTY keybaord but the keys are VERY small) whereas on a regular phone, I know where the keys are by heart and I can just press them while the phone is still up to my ear. Hope that made sense Also, it does get on my nerves that in order to dial a number, I have to use BOTH hands and do it with my thumbs versus a regular cell phone (like my previous Razr) where I could just hold the phone in my hand and dial with that same hand as well - again...hope that made sense, lol. Another complaint I have is that my phone (mind you it is a Sidekick 3 - so the one your looking at may be different? I'm not sure) isn't able to take video, AND, for some weird reason I can't send a picture that I take with my phone through text like I could with all my other cell phones. I always end up having to e-mail them to someone instead of texting the pictures directly to their phone, which is VERY annoying. One other thing, and this may not bother some, but it bothers me because I am a camera/picture freak You cannot set your own pictures as the background/wallpaper on your phone. I just hate that because on my Razr, I would always have either a picture of my babies or my husband and I and I can't do that on this phone These are all things that I didn't think would bother me all that much, but the fact is, they DO It is WONDERFUL for texting and receiving e-mail on your phone, but honestly, other than that (and the MP3 player, which alot of phones have now days anyway) this phone sadly really isn't for me I thought I would just LOVE it - maybe I am just too old for all this? lol. I just want a more simple phone to use After all, it IS a PHONE....and if I don't like it as a phone, then what the hecks the point? I almost want to just put my SIM card back in my Razr and start using that again! I know my husband would kill me though because we paid ALOT for the SK3 - eeeek! P.S. - My next new phone will be a regular, but sleek, Flip Phone - I have now discovered that I like them best LOL

| Thanks everyone. We have verizon now and I am just not at all happy with the service. I have 22 days left on this contract and I'm telling you I am counting them down. I'm glad we only signed a 1 yr contract with them and not a 2 yr because I don't think I could take another year. Maybe its just our area but it just seems like we get MUCH better reception and service with tmobile.

The Q is a good phone but it's a lot like a blackberry and I am not sure if you need all that. The voyager has a touch screen so you can access things easily, it has all the programs that verizon offers and best of all you can open up the bad boy to a full keyboard and text away. I didn't get the Q because it was too big and I am in front of a computer most of the day so I don't need my phone to do that much. I love love my voyager. It's a nice phone and the best part is that I get good reception now with no problems and it's not as expensive or big as the iPhone which my sister has.

This is exactly why i sort of want to get a new phone, because the Q is too big and well i don't really use it lol, since i have a computer lol.. but i do love to text! The only thing i really love about the Q is that i don't have to buy my songs, i can just download them and use them as my ringtones lol i know that's such a small thing, but it's the only phone that i've had that does that lol other that that it's peachy .. but i would like a voyager it sounds nice.. is it great to use as a planner too? as i love to keep organized haha | |
