| is this ridiculous ?! I made an appt. for Barbie to get spayed and thought nothing of asking how much it would cost because my vet is usually pretty reasonable in prices.(atleast i thought so?) i figured around $250? When i received the paperwork in the mail it said anywhere been 400-500 ?!?! i've never had a girl, when i was younger my mom and i adopted a pom and he was never neutered so we had to do that... as far as i remember it was around 200? i understand it costs more for spaying but is that a ridiculous price?! how much did you pay??

| $85 for spay $97ish for bloodwork We go to an expensive vet but they do low cost spay and neuter. What you have been quoted would be correct for an abdominal surgery and right in line or maybe even cheap. It is just that some vets do spay/neuter for cheaper.

| OUCH, where do you live? Your vet is really overcharging. I have females and the spay was around $150 (approx). That included all the medications, pain meds, take home meds (if any) surgery, anesthesia, everything. |

| Spay - $30 Microchip - $20 Tooth extraction (2 of them) - $20 After spay med - $10 Total:$80!! Btw, I have it done at the humane society clinic. I had a co worker had her cats spayed there and she was very happy and impressed with it! So, I decided to take Chloe there! The vet was awesome!!! She performs spay/neutur surgeries every day! So, I suggested to check out a humane society clinic! |

| S/N Call the local Humane Society and ask if they have a program...here in Florida and Maryland it only cost from $5 to $40...depends on which vet you use...local vets donate their time and use their own clinic... |

| Sounds like you need to move to Texas - seems everything here is not big!!! Spays around here are $150-200. There's a clinic in LaMarque where I took one of my rescues - granted, it was a male, but the neuter, all shots and heartworm test was $85.00. Good luck. Be careful though; you don't want just anyone cutting on your angel. |
