| Opinions/Reviews for Dell? In the last 14 months, I've had 3 laptops.. First two were HPs (one screen broke - didn't cover it in their warranty and the other the motherboard corroded -sp?- and that should have been covered but they wanted me to pay $800 to replace so I said no, I'm done with you guys).. The laptop I'm on now is an Acer Aspire and I hate it! I bought it after the 2nd HP be/c I was in a crunch, needed a 17" with a full keyboard. The sound on this thing is absolutely horrible! I can't even hear DVDs playing with head phones on! I don't know how their customer service is because I've not had a problem so far.. Well, after attempting to watch DVDs on here, I gave up!! I bought a Dell 17" Notebook.. The Inspiron 1721... I got it with 2.2GHz, 3GB of memory, webcam, flamingo pink in color, etc etc with a 3yr accidental/hardware warranty for $1500. I specifically asked them about the girls or my kitty peeing on the keyboard (hasn't happened but its my biggest fear!) and they cover it and any screen damage or drops.. So I feel safe.. Has anyone had a Dell? I'm thinking of buying the wireless All-In-One printer by the end of January to go with it.. I absolutely need a fax machine and printer but my DSL box is not on my floor and I don't want to drill holes through the floors and walls to hook it up... Anyone have a wireless printer? Sorry this is so long.. I'm just hoping this is THE last laptop I have to buy for a LONG time! I've dropped $3500 on laptops since I started college! (and I'm only going into my 4th semester!!)

| When I started college, my parents bought me a Dell XP that cost around $2000. I had it for about a year when it started heating up a lot; the heat caused it to form a black "burned" spot near the keyboard. Now, I can't even turn the darn thing on ... it'll only turn on sometimes, when I plug it into the charger. Even then I have to wiggle the charger around in order to get it to turn on. Anyway, I don't use it anymore I'm saving for a Mac Book |

| My husband has a dell, it was seriously over priced. I have a Mac and he likes mine better so eventually he says he'll get a Macbook. Everyone has different things they like about laptops and no two people are going to be the same though. My Mac is slim and light, his Dell looks like a frickin thick monster next to mine. He always has to have the biggest baddest thing he can get and all I can think is "how is that portable???"

| My husband has Dell computers through his work and he loves them, but I had a Dell XP a few years ago and had nothing but trouble with it. I then bought a Toshiba Satellite w/17 inch screen and it was a great computer ( mine are used like workhorses ), but it overheated all the time and the screen broke and fell off. I now have a MacBook and I love, Love, LOVE it. I do not miss the large screen at all and although I need to learn a whole new OS, it is still MUCH better than ANY other computer I have owned in my lifetime. I also have a wireless Printer/Fax/Coper ( HP 2700 ) and it is GREAT! I can be anywhere in the house, or even on my front porch, and I am able to print with no problems. It is now two or three years old, but it still works great. You just can't beat the convenience of the wireless network. Oh another thing about the MacBook.... I ordered it online at 4:00 PM one day and it arrived at 9:00 AM two days later! From China no less !!! |

| I got my Dell 17" laptop (I'm @ work and can't remember the model #.) in August 06. It has worked really well for me except I don't care for the widescreen. Got the Dell wireless 4-in-1 a few months ago and can't seem to keep it working properly, so I plugged the old HP 3-in-1 back in. A big dislike on the Dell printer is that I can only get the cartridges from Dell. My snl is an IT person and he gave me my first Dell laptop (it was 3 yo) when he got a new one. I used it for another couple of years before I got this one, giving the old one to a g-daughter. I think it all depends on what you're using the computer for. I'm a light user at best - internet, games, Excel record keeping.

| PC World Magazine says the best Vista laptop is a Mac. Mine is just the basic Macbook and it runs XP and OSX. Before that I had an HP. I love my little Mac!
