Also another suggestion: Make up one little box with slit on top, tablet attatched with pencil, so they can jot down all the many wonderful things happening in their daily life, place that in the box. Make up a second little box with slit on top, tablet attatched with pencil so they can jot down all that which are not so good happenings ( Besure to leave the bottom open so everything falls out when the box is lifted.) Following instructions: At the end of each week to open one box and it will be a reminder of all their many blessings. The second box will be empty, therefore letting them know all their woes are no longer their woes but God is taking care of them. I know they will be happy with whatever you do. If it was me just a GREAT BIG HUG WOULD DO :) Jack says him too :) We wish everyone a VERY MERRY BLESSED CHRISTMAS. |
How long have you worked with these people? Have you noticed anything that they are interested in? Something you've talked about? Make a homemade gift basket. Fill it with homemade cookies, candies, put in some nuts, tea, coffee, jams, and those kinds of things. |
I think homemade goodies are always good. PM me and I can give you a wonderful 5 minute fudge recipe. |

When my Grandma got older and was in a very small apartment, we always got her stationary, an assortment of cards and stamps. |

4 cups powdered sugar 1/2 cup Hersheys cocoa 1/2 c margarine 1/4 c milk Put all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. DO NOT STIR. Microwave on high for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Stir thoroughly (I use the mixer) and spread evenly in a pan. I sometimes add pecans. Refrigerate until firm. ENJOY |
Pictures! Maybe a nice picture of you and Adie ,Cassie, and Ivan. In a nice little frame.;) They love pictures, we went to a home for a Holiday party a few years ago, and I have to tell ya, the tears in their eyes when they saw pictures said it all. It was way cool:thumbup: |

Thanks, Patty!! Sounds good and looks easy! Two of my favorite things! :) (Lest this be misconstrued, I mean easy to make) |
You are very welcome. Hope you like it. |
My Dad is 77 and he likes magazine subscriptions. In the past he's gotten them for photography, RC airplanes, woodworking, etc. Also, his ears get cold - so a knit scarf and warm gloves. I'm 50, and I LOVE perfume and books by best selling authors If either of the ladies have hobbies i.e. crocheting, cross stich - yarn, threads, or magazine subscriptions are great. Stationery is always nice to receive, along with stamps. Many elderly people are on fixed incomes and stamps are expensive now. My Mother is 72, and she always wants card stock for her printer. She also likes roomy tote bags for her crocheting and books. |
