If all goes according to plan this is the date I will be induced so this is going to be Tess birthday!
Its much closer to Christmas than I ever wanted but my doctor is going on vacation the 27th through the first week of January and its not like I really planned this, lol. So Im super excited, it's less than 3 weeks away!

How exciting!!!! What a fabulous Christmas gift you will have! The next few weeks are going to fly!

Were having a bit of a insurance crisis and by being induced a week early its going to help us out a great deal. The company my husband works for was sold to another company and the new insurance doesnt start until January 1st. We were originally told out currrent insurance would cover us until the end of the year but it doesnt and we just found out lthis week we completely lost our insurance(worst timing ever!). So we just had to write a big check to be put on Cobra insurance to cover us this month and Im really upset becasue I literally just got done paying my deductable for my previous insurance and I was not expecting to have to write a huge check this month. And so If I have my baby the first few days in January like when Im actually due, then I have to pay my deducable(another huge check:() all over again with the new insurance company, so by being induced a week before my due date we wont have to worry about it. And the doctor said its not a problem at all for the baby. So thats why we are doing it. Im really glad too because Im ready for Tess to be here and to get this pregnancy thing over with, Im starting to retain a lot of water which make me nervous. I actually havent been eating as much this past 2 weeks becuase Ive been having such bad reflux problems but I still managed to gain 12 lbs in 10 days :eek: The doctor thinks it is probobly a lot of water weight.

Just so you know, I was induced for two of my pregnancies. The first time, I was induced on the 15th and didn't deliver till the 17th.... for my third pregnancy, I was induced one afternoon and delivered the next afternoon, so......it could take a little time depending upon how your body reacts to the meds they use... I don't want to scare you, but I hope your doctor discussed this with you?!

Wow, I didnt know that could happen I guess I just srot of assumed if I was induced it would happen that day and no my doctor didnt tell me that! I think IM the biggest idiot ever when it comes to this whole pregnancy thing. Ive been reading the "what to expect when expecting" book but I only read the chapter that pertains to me at the present, maybe I should read ahead a few chapters this week, lol

I hope that all goes well for you! I was supposed to be born in January and my mothers doctor did the same thing to her, I was born on the 18 of December so that the doctor would not have to be in the hospital at christmas,at least that is my moms take on it! They have a picture of me under their Christmas tree, as I was their little present!

With my first baby I was induced and after 12 hours of being on pit, they sent me home:eek: Then a week later they did the sane thing and guess what happened? I was sent home again after 20 hours on the "pit" and stripping the membranes!! A few day's latter I went back in and the third time was a charm, We asked if they would brake my water that time though, I was dealated at 4 and 50% effaced , so they did.

Wow! How exciting! I am so happy for you...I can just picture you with your precious Tessa in your arms! I will pay for a quick labor and easy delivery! *HUG* She's going to be such a little doll...can't wait to see pictures of your little sweetheart!

Hi Shana ahhh a Christmas baby how wonderful is that? :D I also hope that your insurance issues work out too cause I know that can be a lot of money out of your pocket....but just think on the 26th of December you won't even be thinking about that. :D ;)

Dec 26 is my sister's birthday! she was born 12-26-82. it's funny because my mom was doing the after christmas sales at kmart. and her water broke i think something happened anyway she had to leave. she told her mom to get her to hospital and she was mad because she had to leave her buggy full of good deals :D

WOOT!! I can't wait to see her. I bet she will be as beautiful as you Shana. I hoping the 27th, my beloved Dad's birthday.

My oldest was born on Dec 27th after being in labor most of the day and all night on the 26th. The only bad thing about having a birthday that close to Christmas is she feels jipped most years. She's going to be :eek: 20:eek:
this year. I think she forgets how much we do for her birthday because it's all kind of wrapped up around christmas. I make a major effort to have the christmas tree put away and do something really "un-christmas" like a Luau birthday party (we did that at least 3 times). We had 20 little girls over when she was 10, let them wear their bikinis under their clothes (snow on the ground outside!) and turn the heat up in the house, dance around in swimsuits, and drink little fruity drinks with umbrella's and little finger foods. They loved it!

Yea!!! Here comes Tessa!!!! What I great Christmas present!!!!! This means I have to leave Houston early on the 26th to get back for the arrival.

Oh yea, I remember you writing about that the first time. Gosh, Shana, that sucks so bad. Im so sorry! Don't worry about that baby weight..you were a skinny minnie before and I have no doubts that you'll bounce right back! I can't wait to see what she looks like!

When I had induced labor, I had it done around 11am and I started labor around 9pm and had Katelyn at 9:45pm that night.

My b-day is the 27th!!! YAY!!! :)

I was also induced with my son. I was gaining a bunch of water weight and my feet got real huge. Also, my blood pressure was really high. So on my due date the doctor was like lets induce you because your baby is good weight, your due, and it's silly to put stress on you and the baby. That was the 15th of January, I had Chase on the 17th. They kept starting and stopping my contractions but I just wasn't dilated yet. :rolleyes: So they used a cervadil (sp) and it worked like a charm! I hope all goes well with your delivery!
