Finally!!!!
 
:yay_jump::yay_jump:I finished my last final this morning so I have finally finished my very first semester of vet school!!! :cheer::cheer:

OMG - it feels amazing to be done!!! This week has been so tough with back to back finals in all my classes...I think I got 5hours of sleep Sunday night, 3 hours on Monday night, NONE on Tuesday night (stayed up all night) , took a 4 hour nap yesterday and got 3 hours of sleep last night. I feel good about all my tests but you never know...hopefully I passed everything. I did get my anatomy test and did for sure pass that so Yay! I should get my physiology grade back anytime now...I keep checking online. Poor Lacy has been neglected :rolleyes: She wore the same PJs all day for 2 days in a row and then was naked for 2 days! She's finally dressed though..LOL. I have a whole month off before I start back! I am so ready for the break! Anyway, I am just SO excited to be DONE!!! :jump28ib: :woof::woof::woof: :jump28ib:

Kudos girl!!!! You probably did great! And Aggies make great vets, engineers, etc. What a great school!

Congratulations! I'm so glad it's been so long I've forgotten how stressful finals are, LOL! I admire you for your chosen field of study though; I know how hard it is to get into vet school to begin with! Good luck in the future! Hope you got all A's!

VERY impressive!!! Congrats!!!!!! :thumbup:

I wish I would have had the balls to go for it. It was always my dream but I'm too sqeemish and emotional. I tear up "just going to the vet"., Its crazy.

So you'll be spaying and operating and the whole works?

I'm so impressed! It would be nice to have a vet here to help with questions!!!!

I got to do a practice spay on a dead cat a few weeks ago. We get to do our first real spays and neuters during third year. I LOVE surgeries. Whatever I decide to specialize in has to involve surgeries

You spayed a dead cat?:eek: Now that I could not handle. I suppose I'd rather spay a dead cat than a live rat though.;)

How do you remember all of the info you learn and how do they cram it all in in four years?

Congrats! I'm sure you did great on all of them. Hey, I love it too when the students get their summer and winter breaks..... campus is SO nice and quiet then!! ;) I work in the Chemistry Dept.

My 13 year old daughter, Skylar, is wanting to go to vet school also. A couple summers ago she went to visit my SIL in Austin and her vet let Skylar come spend the day in the office. She "helped" with several surgeries and a bunch of check-up visits. She loved doing it and this vet asked my SIL recently why she hadn't brought her back yet. I think she has such a special way about her with animals.... they just seem to sit and listen to her and talk back. This summer I'm hoping that our vet will let her volunteer at his office a bunch. Who knows.... in a few years maybe I can get some pointers from YOU for her. :)

And gee pretty soon you will be asked all kinds of questions from all of us on Yt...:eek: :eek: It will be nice to be able to chat online with a real vet, to get opinions on health matters of your precious yorkie's...:eek:

Your baby's will be ever so lucky to have you...I am impressed. :D

Yeah, we do a lot with cadavers or first year in anatomy...dissections of dogs and cats in the fall and horses and I think a goat in the spring. Gotta learn what normal anatomy is before you can recognize abnormal stuff. I'm looking forward to surgeries my third year though.

They do cram it in. A lot of it overlaps and you hear basic things and use basic things over and over so you remember it. Everything starts building on the basic stuff. I don't think I'll remember everything from every class though that's for sure. But a lot of the remembering should just come with using that knowledge regularly

I'm always here in the summer and I LOVE when most of the students leave too! It's quieter and MUCH less traffic around here. It's great!

I started working for a vet a few hours a week after school when I turned 14. i worked for him all four years of high school. Vet experience (volunteering and working with vets) is really important to have when applying. The more hours you can claim, the better it looks.

Oh, I agree. That's why I want her to get started this summer (she'll be 14 then). This is our vet that we've had since our toy poodle so we've been going to him for 18 years. He is such a sweetheart and cared so much when we had to put Dax down after 15 years. He's also very well known in this area - very involved with many things - so I know that a recommendation letter from him would mean a lot.

Congratulations....I really admire you for wanting to become a vet. It takes a special kind of person to be able to do it.
