Do you have a favorite country singer ?


Female singer, one of my favorites is Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette but also have many others :)
Male singer I favor the Statler Brothers :) Charley Pride, Marty Robbins, Randy Travis (his recent songs) and guess I have to include a distant couison Ferlin Huskey, does any one remember him? I don't think he recorded many songs.

I love gospel music, one of whom I have great respect for was Mahalia Jackson, I read her autobiography many years ago (30 years now) I was very much touched by her dedication in her singing not for money but for her Love for the Lord, many, many times she refused payment for her singing engagements, and was always ready to attend any engagement that was for a charity out of love for the cause, after reading her autobiography she became my favorite of all gospel singers, and forever will remain so.

Just curious who else enjoys country music, and who are some of your favorite singers and is there anyone in particular and why? :)

Not all country music is a favorite of mine but I would say I do like country music :) Jack didn't when we first met but now he has learned to like it :) after 52 years I think he has kinda got use to it :) :)

I'm not really into Country music, but there are some songs I like. I do love Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts! And one of the "older" country singers I like is Reba.

:eek: Oh my I have so many that I like that is not even funny:D, but we don't listen country that much anymore. We are in to gospel big time, favor band Third Day:thumbup: :thumbup:, I really like most of them from Toby Mac to Charlie Daniels, Mercy me,Cristal Lewis, Yolanda Adams, Randy Travis, Rebeca St.James, soo many that I can remember, and I really love in spanish gospels like the puerto rican Danny Berrios, the italian Marino, Zunilda Melo from Dominican Republic, lol I like all christian music as long that I can understand what they are saying lol, I just love all of them. It really depends of my mood that day or what I'm going through:p

I agree with you on Patsy Cline. Golden voice. I like all country, but these come to mind:

George Straight
Garth Brooks
Toby Keith
LeAnn Rimes (the heir to Patsy's lungs)

I definitely agree with you on LeAnn Rimes. What a voice!!...... and have you heard some of her new stuff..... it is REALLY good!

No I haven't, but I'll have to. I just know she goes places vocally where few people can go. Amazing range and seemingly effortless. I get butterflies on her high notes.

I really like Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Leeann Rimes, Johnny Cash and Kenny Rogers.

I drive my BF mad with country music... he can't stand it and can't understand why I like it so much! lol. Surely there are more 25 y.o British girls that like it??? :rolleyes: Maybe I'm just odd... lol

I also like Meatloaf, Country Crows and Phil Collins and then modern chart stuff too! Talk about varied! :D

I love, love, love LUKE BRYAN. Hes relatively new, but is doing awesome. I've know him since before he got famous (we went to the same unveristy). He is genuinely a nice, good, polite guy. He always stays as long as needed after shows for ppl to get autographs, pics, etc. Although now he's getting more famous he may not always be able to do it.

Oooo this is one of my favorite topics... I LOVE country music. Especially OLD Country music. I'm only 24 but my mom and I lived with my grandparents so my Papaw definitely taught me an appreciation for GREAT music.

My all time favorite is Patsy Cline, but I love most all the old timers, Conway, Loretta, Dottie just all of them. I like a lot of the new ones too. If it's country I'll listen.

#1 all time fav - Rascal Flatts! I also love, love, love George Strait...I just think he is sooo sweet and down to earth. And for some reason I am obsessed with the way he walks (weird I know) LOL :laugh: He reminds me SO MUCH of my brothers best friend - what a hunk!!! ;) :dribble: Also love Lonestar, Brooks and Dunn, Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood, but probably my #1 favorite female country singer is Martina Mcbride - what a gorgeous voice she has. Also love Leanne Womack and Faith Hill.

I guess my favorite is Willie Nelson, George Straight, and Earl Thomas Conley for the guys and Patsy Cline, Dolly Pardon for the girls.... I almost like all country music tho,,, another good one is Jim Ed Brown, (He sang Confidential, Mr. Blue and songs like that) guess I'm just an old softy at heart.

I agree the King looks great in those starched wranglers and as it was said on one Country Awards Program, he looks just as good walking toward you as he does walking away.....

Got to see him 3 times at Texas Stadium....

Really would like to see Toby Keith..
