i LOVE sticky notes too... they are so helpful! and i love the "corners" especially the widgets!

oh, and did you know you can use 2 fingers on the track pad to scroll down a page? i love that feature. i was using my friends dell laptop on thanksgiving and was getting very frustrated because i wanted to scroll using the track pad and couldnt LOL

My new Macbook is much smaller ( 13 inch screen ) than my Toshiba ( 17 inch screen ) and to tell you the truth ... I really do not miss the weight and bulk. I did opt for the 2 GB, but I also have an external hardrive on my Christmas List. I too use mine for pics, movies and such ...but this time I will not use my Mac to house it all.
The toshiba i had was actualy my dads so it was a hand-me-down lol, and it did i did also use it probably why it died on me..

im just having such a hard time choosing because not all of my friends have a MAC and all of them have PCs so i don't really get the best of both worlds for advice or anything :)

what can you do with the 'corners"???


i got my mac a year ago and still havent' figured out all the mac tricks

i have discovered the stickies tho :)

well one of my corners (you quickly move your curser to a corner) makes the widgets come up, another corner shows all the windows i have up (let's say i have itunes, the internet, a word program and my picture... it makes them small so i can see them all at once and just click on the one i want to bring forward) my other corner removes all the window i have up so i can just see my desktop and the other one puts my screensaver on.

so... go to system preferences...then dashboard.... on top left select Dashboard .. botton left ... all windows.... top right... desktop and bottom right start screen saver... enjoy! they are fun!

I do not know anyone in my family, or friends, who have Macs and there for took a leap of faith in choosing the Mac, but then again... I know that I am the type of person who does not easily get upset with challenge and I enjoy the learning process. PLUS... it came so highly recommended by PC Mag, Consumer Report and just about anyone who has one. I guess I really had nothing to lose. :)

The other ladies gave you the same advise that I would have given you. But I wanted to add, that you can buy a 2 button mouse to be able to continue to use your "right click".

widgets....click F12 you will see what a widget is :) and you can add to them too. they are pretty fun :)

aww you guys are making it sound like tons of fun! i wanna do that! LoL..

Since my toshiba died, i was in a hard spot and it was an emergency, and at the time could only afford this laptop.. but now i'm kind of 2nd guessing myself.. but im still undecided regarding the whole 1gb mac 2gb pc thing..

what do you have for Widgets right now??

i have ESPN updates, a calendar, a countdown until we go to Florida, the dictonary, calculator, a currency converter, the weather, itunes and flight tracker.

i have radar, weather, sudoku, countdown, flight tracker, and some stickies. the main thing i use it for is weather. i have an iphone now so honestly, i dont use the widgets as much because almost all of the stuff i have on my widgets is on my iphone
