Gayla, you are not OLD! I couldn't believe it when I heard you had a daughter about my age! And, hey, age is just a number! I don't care how old someone is...age doesn't determine how fun it is to hang out with someone!

Hey! I'm 38 so I guess that makes me an older one too. LOL! I agree - everyone of all ages will have GREAT time!

No one else could have done it like you did, so THANK YOU so so so much! As someone else said, Lisa for President!

Secondly, I just read through the entire thread and the issue of dog strollers came up with regards to traveling. I have taken my stroller through the airport with Kobi. You bet I got some weird looks (yep...just another thing people don't understand about my doggies ), but the airline said it was fine. I flew Northwest, but no matter what I fly anymore, I am going to insist that they let me at the front ticket counter.

If you do take it, all you do is make sure you ALSO have a carrier and then you CHECK the stroller planeside just like skinbaby ones. IFFFFFFFFFF you get to the ticket counter and ready to go with your stroller and they say, "NO CAN DO" then just check it as another piece of luggage...just make sure you aren't at your limit. I hope I answered the questions about how this works, but if you have another one, PM me AND post it here, so that I know for sure that someone's asking one, and it gets answered publicly!

I've also thought about checking my x-pen because I can tie it up pretty well ??? so we'll see if that happens or not, but it was just a thought.

OHHHHHHHHHHH, I absolutely cannot wait for this!!! Kobi, Kiwi, and Me are going to be so ready to meet you all BTW, Who said party??? I just turned 21 this year, so I am READY TO PAR-TAY! lol

HAYYYYY! I turn 21 in January!! I'm so excited! Bring the party on, or whatever it is we're doing. Now i can drink wine at the dinner

It was Delta and She told me they allow 2 dogs per flight. If you have those two you are good but you have to book them early.
I would call and ask. though. I hope that help out some people I am just glad it is just a short Drive for me

However, I do see his point of needing to do additional sanitation and such since there will be SO MANY dogs there and since they will be allowing dogs in rooms they maybe wouldn't normally allow dogs in (the pet fee also covers cleaning of the ballroom if any of our babies should have an accident in there, or anywhere else in the hotel for that matter), so I see where he's coming from that he doesn't know our dogs and for all he knows they'll be peeing/marking everywhere and they'll have a HUGE clean-up bill on their hands afterwards - he needs to make sure they're covered for that. However, I ALSO see our side of how wonderful our babies are, that they won't possibly have an accident, and that the pet fee is simply ridiculous! Unfortunately, we don't know which way the meet-up will go, so the hotel is going with the CYA motto. Not everyone is a dog lover, and these businessmen checking in for their convention the following Sunday/Monday may not want dog hair on their bedspread or the smell of urine in the hallways (who would really??). That's how the hotel is looking at it. I really don't think it's a way to rip us off, but rather, a way to ensure their hotel is clean and welcoming for the next group of people to check-in. They've never had this many dogs in their hotel at once before, so they're really not sure what to expect (and neither am I...although I know it will be SO MUCH FUN )!!!!
I think to ensure that our dogs don't mark, pee everywhere in the ball room we should put belly bands on them(on the males). I know my females don't mark but Teddy does, i don't even think he is going but if he were i would def. put a belly band on him. That way we wouldn't have to worry about 'accidents', since they are doing us a big favor of letting us have so many dogs there.

So I'm sure he's coming....I just hope he won't be the only male out of 200 people eating dinner !!!!!!!

BTW, to all planning on taking a longer vaca there, we will be there from either Tuesday or Wednesday through Sunday...just an FYI if someone wanted to get together before the "Official International Yorkie Talk Meet-Up 2008" begins

Well i told my bf that there are a lot of husband's and bf's going so he won't be the only one I really want him to go with me so he can help me with the midgets cause if he doesn't go i can only take 1, so we are really trying.

I don't plan on having Lacy walking around the ballroom. She'll either be carried or in her stroller.

oo ok i wish i could do that but knowing London she is a social one, i mean to the point that when she sees another dog she wants to jump out of my arms and say hi. If i don't put her down she moves a lot and whines, so i will have to put her down for a bit at least to get it out of her. Sophie is a little shy one so she will prob. want me carrying her anyway. But i guess for those that are letting theirs run free and mark a lot it would be good to put belly bands on them. Both my girls are paper trained, so if there is newspaper or weewee pads in the room they will pee on that. But idk how it's going to be. Do you know ifthere will be a little gated area for them in the room with an xpen or will they be able to run free? In the yorkie meetups i go to the dogs run free but near the door there is a gate around it so that when ppl open no dog can run out by mistake.
