My family needs your prayers.
 
We need your prayers desperately at this time. This is the word that I have received.


Family reuinion over this weekend in Three Rivers, TX. Our cousin...Jennifer went with her brother, Ray to go on a beer run. When they got back, Jennifer couldn't find her husband so she went to look for him. She found him in a vehicle and he had taken his own life.

It is a shock to us all since he left behind 2 small children one of which is not quite 1 year old.

OMG Kimberly !! I am so so sorry and your family has my prayers ...oh.... is that ever sad...I'm so sorry for your family and especially those little children he left behind - He must have had tremendous feelings of hopelessness to do that - if you need to talk - just pm me - I'm very sorry....

Pat and Villette, thank you so much! None of us can figure out why he would do something like this! It infuriates me. I feel that he was being just SO selfish. I had talked to my mom on the phone and I told her, if someone is going to do something like this, do it before you have children!!!!! Why would you put people...especially children...through something like this???????????

This is terrible. I can't imagine what your cousin is going through right now. I'm sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts to you esp. to your cousin and her kids.

Oh no Kim! That is just awful! God bless your family. So sorry to hear this...

Oh MY GOD Kimberley I am so so very sorry, my sis committed suicide, things like this can never be understood.

i can understand you feeling mad, i would be too. but when someone takes there own life they are very unhappy desperate people who feel there only way out is for them to take there life, maybe he had money problems or was very depressed and hide it very well, he must of planned it and waited till his family were out to do it, so though i would be mad i have to feel sorry for him for feeling so desperate that he thought the only way out was to take his own life.

What a tragic and unexpected loss! It's always especially
sad to see someone you know go in that manner because
it leaves so many unanswered questions for the family.

I'm so sorry that he felt that was his only option. That's a horrible place to be, mentally.

I just had to reply, getting ready to leave. Anger is normal, especially under the circumstances. But please remember, no one knows what another goes through or what caused him to do this. Depression is an awful disease and those that suffer from it do things they wouldn't normally do. Often people hide their depression for very unselfish reasons, but people cannot always deal with it alone. The family is left with unanswered questions and soon will begin to second guess theirselves, could I have done something, why didn't I see this coming, why did they do it. I would urge your family to find a support group asap to help them deal with this tragedy. My prayers are with you during this time. I will be gone until late Wed. But feel free to pm me if you need to talk, I am familiar with suicide and families left behind.

Kimberley, I will certainly be praying for your cousin and your whole family. I am so sorry! We lost the husband of our neice about 9 years ago to a suicide. It was devastating and we were all shocked! He also left behind two children. It's something the family never gets over. You just have to try to get on with life. Your cousin will need a lot of support.

As someone who has family members who suffer from depression (thankfully not suicide), I, too, understand the pain, anger and frustration/confusion it can leave the family with. Sophiedog is right, support groups and sharing your feelings can really help you to understand and cope.

Also, please watch your cousin for signs of depression, too. A young mother with so much on her shoulders before this tragedy... I can't even pretend to imagine her suffering. She will surely need your strength and love in the days ahead.

As I hear this story, it angers me all over again to think about the recent comments Tom Cruise made that have been all over the news!! He says there is no such thing as depression or chemical imbalances!! He "KNOWS". Usually I embrace that we all have different opinions, but he's the charter member on my boycott list now.

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I, too, am here if you need me.

Might I suggest you go to the gallery and look at pictures - you can't look at all those cute little boogers and not cheer up at least a bit...

Sherry Lynn, you made me smile! :) They left today to take him up to Ft. Worth to be buried up there. Found out lots of stuff last night and without going into details, he had a lot of issues that he has been dealing with lately. It was possible that he was Bi-Polar. :( Saw lots of family members that I hadn't seen in a while and Jennifer looked as good as could be expected.

She's got a long road ahead of her. This is one good reason to have such a large family. She's got cousins everywhere and other family members that can help her...including me! :)
