The cramping and twinges your having sounds like your getting closer. Those tend to be the markers for me on getting ready to rock and deliver. If I were you I would do my best to opt for a vaginal. Believe me god made that to work nicely (I have had 3 and with some kegals your good to go). The last time the preeclampsia was most likely the culprit for your not moving along naturally. Just be careful...dr's make more money on a c-section so they love to do it. Although you had a c the first time you can still deliver normally this time if you choose to. |
My first born was breech and I had a c-section scheduled but two days before, I went into labor and just went to the hospital and had a c-section. I guess they called it an emergency c-section but it didn't feel like anyone was rushing or that it was an emergency at all. Good Luck! |

i had false labor one time and boy was i mad! i had what felt like real contractions for about 3 hours. made my mom come over and hubby come home from work LOL Then i went into real labor 2 days later. |
the tinges, happen back to back..and have now ceased since my last post.. i know god made us able and all im just not willing...lol my "emergency" c-section last time was rescheduled 3 times because other people came in with bigger emergencies (understandable, but i was very uncomfortable at the time and wasnt very nice..they didnt let me eat for like 2 days i was starvin and sore..lol)..so i was supposed to go in at like 2:30 that afternoon, the it got moved to 5:00 and then finally 6pm and at 6:30 we had a whittle boy |

I think you should phone someone for advice. Over here we have a midwifery department at all hospitals and that's where you phone... do you have that over there? Maybe your own midwife? It's probably not actual labour cuz that's meant to be really painful and I doubt you'd still be sat on YT... unless you have a ridiculasly high pain threshold! lol I really do think that you should phone someone for advice though and see what they suggest. How are baby's movements? |
lol..no i dont think im labor yet..i almost wish so that i could get it over and done with before xmas and b-days and b/c im excited.. i havent thought about calling the hospital..im not sure about the midwery thing either i would have to call around. baby is very active he keeps thumping me:p |
false labor is characterized by it not being consistent. Getting up or laying down can trigger the contractions. Contractions that are not painful can still work on your cervix. Real labor doesn't get terribly painful for a lot of people until they are much more advanced into it. I could handle contractions fine until i was like 5 cm dialated. Your body is definatley getting ready. Which sounds like your body didn't have a chance to the first time around for you. Being induced is awful and if your body isn't ready it doesn't always work. YOu may have a much better experience this time. |

choleandj's post makes good sense... seeing as neither of us have had to actually have labour and delivery yet I'd listen to her! lol |
yes she does make a lot of sense |
I had 2 C-Section babies. The first C-Section was not planned and came only after hours and hours of labor - pushing and what then became an urgent situation. This made the recovery period long and arduous. The Doctor explained that it was like running a marathon and then having major abdominal surgery in the same day. The second C-Section was planned; 9.5# breach baby that they were sure wasn't going to deliver vaginally due to my first experience. However, as life would have it, I went into labor a week before my planned C-Section. When this happened we called the Doctor, who sent us on to the hospital. He met us there, gave me a drug that immediately stopped the contractions, etc and I had a much more leisurely C-Section, which was such a change of pace from my earlier emergency situation. The recovery from this second C-Section was SO much easier and smoother, as I wasn't so worn out from hours of labor. I would have preferred a vaginal birth in both instances, but my body didn't cooperate and having a more planned experience (although early) the second time was much easier on my body and I regained my strength much sooner. Hope this helps ease your nerves! |
yes it does..thank you so much |
Reading all these posts brought back great memories....I had C Sections both times....Twins were footling breech and had no room to flip around....THey were 7.6 and 6.9 and 21 inches long......Second C Section was scheduled....I got to pick the date....Walked in that morning and had Holly 2 hours later....She was 9.6 and 21 inches long..... It was great no labor......no worry.......I swear C Sections are the way to go.....I was up and walking when I got out of recovery.... So I totally understand where you are coming from....I had no desire to push a watermelon out of a straw...lol...so to speak.... Congrats on the new baby... Joyce |
