Sounds like a virus. Can you restart your modem if you have one? You may have to reformat your hard drive.

you may want to reboot in safe mode and move the restore date a few days back....then run your spyware.

What if when you are restarting the computer you tap on the F11 key...I think that might bring you into safe mode...its been so long I hardly remember..sounds like its a bad virus whatever you got..

This is good to know. Trend Micro PC-cillin came installed on this puter. I've been thinking of going back to Norton, because I never hear anyone using this program. But, I think we'll stick.

hmmm...hopefully it's a mean pop-up and not a virus. I woulda turned the computer off and not said anything to my hubby and let him think he did something to his own computer...but that's bad and sneaky. You are a much nicer person..hehe

LOL! That was the first thing i thought of doing. I'm sure he would have done that to me! LOL

Well, hubby has been working on it tonight and he plugged in a different monitor to it and it came on, but the laptop definately crashed. He had to reinstall everything, i don't know what he'll do to get the screen going again, but i'm staying out of it! LOL

No, he's not mad. I think if there was something on there that was important and unrecoverable he would be taking this much worse. But the worse thing that's going to come out of this is he won't be able to lay on the couch on the internet at night. lol
