My grandson needs your thoughts and prayers today PLEASE
 

I havn't shared this here so I will try to make a very long story short.

My grandson was born with Gastroschesis (sp?) which is where the intestines are outside the body. Usually this is easy to fix but he had complications. He just turned 1 in November and has spent his entire short life in the hospital aside from a few very short trips at home. Never more than 2 weeks. He has had countless surgeries and about 3 1/2 months ago had a triple transplant which included a new bowel (small intestine), liver and spleen. This is a complicated transplant and one that is still somewhat in the experimental stages. It doesn't often have a good outcome and is only done when there is no other option. We have been told that it is not a life saving transplant but more a life lengthening transplant.

Ok, so that is a brief history so you know where we started...

and this is where are at right now....

They really wanted him to be able to spend Thanksgiving at home with his family so he was let out of the hospital just before Thanksgiving with a seriously low white blood cell count. I didn't think it was smart then and now am really upset that they let it happen. He is now in the PICU fighting for his life. He has a serious infection. They can't keep his temp down and they can't keep his blood pressure up. There is also a problem in his belly as it is distened and hard. This all just started last night and he is just gotten into the PICU this morning so they are still running all the tests and the doc has just come in to see him so we don't have any answers yet.

Please, please send all the prayers you can and if you don't pray than we very much value your thoughts as well.

I am so sorry about your little grandbaby. It's hard to see someone so small and innocent go through such difficulties, and I know it must be horrible for you as well to watch your child go through this with their own baby... I can only imagine the heartache... We will be thinking about you here in Idaho and sending healing thoughts ...

Thank you ladies for being with us in your thoughts and prayers. Right now what I have given above is all we have. I will post updates as things change. Sometimes we can have many changes in a day and others though we go days with no changes but I promise I will keep you updated as best I can.

Devin is sooooooooooooooo adorable. I didn't know whether to cry for him or smile at his beautiful pictures. He has definitely captured my heart. I will continue Praying and pass on his story to my family for Prayers if that's ok.

Hi girls, I just got off the phone with my daughter. She said a little while ago Devin was having a line placed and his blood pressure plumeted and his heart stopped beating. They coded him and did compressions for about 3-4 minutes and got it back. He is very critical right now. I am beside myself right now. When he was born he couldn't be taken care of where he was so they moved him to Seatle Children's hospital....We are in Georgia. It's just killing me.

OMG this is scary. I have sent your story to my family so they can Pray too. He is such a precious baby. I Pray he makes it through this.

I'm sending all my prayers to you and your grandson and his family. I know the lord answers prayers and your grandson will be better soon!!

Oh my word, I am so very sorry to hear about your grandson. I can imagine you pacing up and down and praying. I will be saying prayers right now for him.
