| Is it me or... Has this year completely FLEW by?!?!?!? I feel like it should still be summer....but in reality Thanksgiving has come and gone and the stores are all decked out in their Christmas decorations. The christmas lights are up around my house...realtives are beginning to ask me what I want from Santa for Christmas like im still 5 years old and still think that he exists...Im reaching for an actual coat when I leave the house. As I get older the years just race by me and im left wondering what have I ACTUALLY done this year? Have I changed, have my friends change, have I lost anyone close to me, have I accomplished any of my goals for this past year...these are the questions that I ask myself every year around this time. It seems like there have been so many negative things that have happened this year. Not only to my immediate life but to our world as a whole. Every year this time I remember the John Lennon song... Happy Christmas (War Is Over)...The line that gets me every time is... "And so this is Christmas For weak and for strong For rich and the poor ones The world is so wrong" I find myself thinking of this song more and more - wishing that the words would be true for us all...... "So this is Christmas And what have you done Another year over And a new one just begun And so this is Christmas I hope you have fun The near and the dear one The old and the young A very merry Christmas And a happy New Year Let's hope it's a good one Without any fear And so this is Christmas For weak and for strong For rich and the poor ones The world is so wrong And so happy Christmas For black and for white For yellow and red ones Let's stop all the fight A very merry Christmas And a happy New Year Let's hope it's a good one Without any fear And so this is Christmas And what have we done Another year over And a new one just begun And so this is Christmas I hope you have fun The near and the dear one The old and the young A very merry Christmas And a happy New Year Let's hope it's a good one Without any fear War is over over If you want it War is over Now..." Just sharing my thoughts.... |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | That was such a nice post. I've never heard that song before. This year has flown by like crazy for me. I remember when the ball dropped, I yelled out the window "Happy 2007 Milltown!" haha. I think back at all the things that have happened in this past year. Half of my year was absolutly glorious and I couldn't have loved it more, then the last half things got so weird. It almost scares me how fast this year went by. I feel like as I get older the years get shorter and shorter....it gives you a new appreciation for time. I hadn't realized how fast the year had gone by until I read this thread. Now I'm sitting here totally shocked. I feel like I've changed completley as a person since the beginning of this year.
